Invoice Issue

AOA Everyone,

I've purchased a second hand Mehran with complete file. However when i go to excise office today to transfer car on my name agent told me that excise won't transfer this car because the invoices in the file are not correct. On both invoices it says "FOR VERIFICATION ONLY". He told me that you should produce invoices which says "FOR REGISTRATION". Could anyone let me know if there is a problem with my file or my agent is trying to grab some more money from me?

Important thing in any cars file is sales certificate and sale deed Original from the company. if its not there then file is not complete. If it's misplace then, previous owner lost it or something is gone wrong. As far as i know yes you need registration vehicle stamp on that sales certificate. You might need to contact your previous owner number kon sey province ka hai apka and model?

Please see attached. Owner have given me the file and it has Invoice & Sale & Certificate both. However agent told me the problem is that these both are the "Verification" one copies and not the "Registration". I've attached both Sales Certificate & Invoice of my File. If you'll see on the top of the both pictures you can see it says "For Verification Only". I'm really not sure what it actually means because that's the first time i've bought a car. Any other guidance will be appreciated.

Something similar happened to me back in the day. I bought a Honda civic and normally one would check that sale certificate and invoice are attached. Usually people don't bother on what's written on the certificate itself. With me it exactly happened that though we saw the invoice but never realized that's its the verification copy and not the customer copy. However thanks God we soon realized it as while selling it another dealer pointed out and we returned the car to its owner we bought from.
Coming to your problem the seller if he's the first owner lost the invoice and certificate and than with the help of an agent got those papers that are with the excerise department for record. Remember invoices have usually 3 copies a customer copy, verification and a third copy that usually the dealers take right away before handing over the car. So this guy must have taken those out and put them in file to complete the file. Best bet is this. You need to return the car to him and get your money back.

Thanks for the response. Is there any other way i can get this car transferred on my name or should i just return this to the owner?

There is no point in getting it transferred even if it does happen. Next time you wont be able to sell it and even if you do that the guy who bought it would not be able to get it transfer to his name and he will make a fuss with you. But than you wont be able to return the vehicle because than the original owner can claim that i gave him all the original documents otherwise how did he got the car transferred.
Simply put return the car and get your money back. No need to get yourself into a mess.

You can get car transferred on your name via brokers sitting outside excise office because usually they bave links inside but DO NOT DO IT if you love your money. Because you won't be able to sale your car ever (except for the fact that you'll be able to sale it at a throwaway price).
Best practice is to return the car as advised by @IceCold

Okay thank you However i'm just afraid if seller of the car will refuse to take the car back and will refund my money. What should i do in that case?

You have every right to ask for the original documents of the car. Otherwise you can take legal action against seller for selling you a property that cannot be transferred on your name and it comes under fraud.

Better to return your car. Look for any other neat car or ask customer to give you registration customer copy. Please before buying any car, take someone with you jis ko yeh sarey mamlat ka pata ho.

transfer ho b jae gi ap ki gari but when you will sell your car in future. again new owner k lia same rola hoga.

Any company gives One original Invoice with original sales certificate. As far as i know.

I m about to book Suzuki cultus VXL 2021. But the showroom said to me that they have already one car in their stock which I checked. They said that we will give you this car, and will invoice it in January so it will be the 2021 model. Just give us a little bit of premium. In this way, you don't have to wait for two months and you will get a ready car. Now I wanted to ask:

1 ) Is the model of car-related to the invoice? I mean if it is invoiced in 2021 then will it become the 2021 model?
2) How will I know that the car is not invoiced already on another name? I am asking so that I might know before I m subjected to fraud.
3) What is your expert suggestion? Should I book in my own name and wait for 2 months? or get the ready car?
4) They are giving me 60 days of booking time. Would the car be delivered in 2 months or it takes more than that? Someone with personal experience might tell precisely.
5) If the year of manufacture is 2020. Can it be the 2021 model? I mean isn't the model related to the year when it is manufactured?
