IP Camera Stuck with Customs - Karachi IMO

I recently bought a IP Camera from AliExpress and the item was received at IMO Karachi on 25th Jan.

I waited for a week and then visited the GPO on last Thursday and inquired about my parcel. The Controller told me its with Customs and directed me to the CED Dept. I stepped in and they said its stuck with customs and you will receive it on this Monday (6th Feb) and you will have to pay around 2500/- since the IP Camera valued at $56.

Till now nothing and I am clueless. Anyone has had similar type of experience before? Cna you point me in the right direction?

You have to pay the custom duty applicable on cam. How much duty, that you may try to negotiate with custom official. This is based on personal experience on import of same product.

I am willing to pay it, but the CED person told me that you will receive the item at your home and pay the duty at your home.

Yep it is mostly like that . There is no negotiation with custom officer other then to show him that you are willing to bribe him or you have got some reference .

It can take up to 1-2 more weeks for parcel to be delivered. Be patient.

Finally, just received my parcel. They only tool 761 rupees custom duty.

Well, first of all, you need to have patience. Either the IMO will send you a letter at your address or the postman will come and show you a custom duty paper. You'll have to pay the duty to him and he'll give you the parcel.

Visiting the IMO office wasn't of much help in my case.

I just waited and the postman came home and I paid the duty.

Which city are you in? Follow the instructions written on letter.

i am facing a same issue, i order a samrt watch from Netherland, i got a letter from GPO to get approval letter from PTA to get this watch clear from custom office. what should i need to do ? can any one guide me?

You have to go to pta website and fill information regarding watch as they put it. Such as imei and make and model.

Then send imei to them through email with gpo letter scanned. They will reply within a week or less. And show that to gpo and get your watch. But you have to pay custom amount. If watch costs 20000 rs. U have to pay almost 5000 rs. For Further guidance. Post ur letter here i will properly guide u. And if yhe watch is from fake company. Gpo will confiscate it. Becase everything is decided by REAL IMEI.
