Great news, 2.30 can now be downgraded to 2.28 and unlocked via yellowsn0w.

I found this great news on web and wanted to share please follow the link below. I couldm't try it out since I don't have wifi but if anyone tries it do let us know.

why do you need wifi?

wifi is needed to install openSSH through cydia and you will also need mobile terminal (through cydia) to run the commands.

all the 3G phones that have been upgraded from 2.28 to 2.30 can be unlocked. but the phones that came as 2.30 from factory can not be unlocked.

now this unlocking is also available at singapore plaza for Rs. 1500-2500

Thanks :-). The problem is that my cell is 2.30.03 from factory :-(.

I am trying, let's see whether I'll be successful or not.

coz mine is factory 2.30.03

I have tried it, but my iPhone boot loader version is 5.09 and this downgrade only works with 5.08. so its of no use to me.

its available in cydia under iclarified. and now the process is very easy but for only those who ahve 5.08 bootloader.

You can still try it. if it works it means that u are lucky to have 5.08 bootloader. if your bootloader is 5.09 the downgrade will still run but it will not effect the baseband.
