iPhone 7 GSM UNLOCKED USA Version

Hello everyone,

I'm willing to purchase an iPhone 7 from a USA site, it says that it is GSM Unlocked and USA Version, i tried to google it and couldn't come up with a satisfactory answer, can anyone please explain what does this mean ? Will it work problem free in Pakistan ? I read somewhere that it might not support 3G networks internationally, is that so ?

Will that site ship the phone via courier? Or someone in USA will bring it along for you? Asking because if they ship the phone you will face some hardtime difficulty for clearing the phone

If you are talking about official apple's website, and you want to make a full payment, then it will be unlocked, you will not face any problem in pakistan ...

I called Apple about this and they told me this. Yes it's unlocked but first you have to activate it with the carrier you purchase it on. If you buy a t-mobile iphone 7, it's unlocked but you have to first activate it with t-mobile then cancel the service. This is just what I've been told from Apple.

No, its not like that ...
If you with a monthly plan, then you have to activate through that carrier, and then after that you will have to pay full amount to cancel that service and use it as unlocked phone ...
So why buy with that service if they are offering you unlocked phone ...
My friend bought his unlocked iphone from apple store (online), he never faced any issue from the purchasing date ...

If you are buying directly from Apple on full payment then there will be will be no issues. Carrier phones (T-mobile, Verizon etc.) do have some signal issues here in Pakistan.

It is not like that. There are two ways to purchase phone there. 1- You buy directly from Apple (the unlocked versions) and you can use them anywhere around the world. 2- You buy from carrier company (T-Mobile, Verizon, O2, Vodafone etc.), it is like buying a phone on installments and these are carrier locked phones. You'll have to get them unlocked before using any other network sim.

Yes, it will work in Pakistan without any problem. Only network locked phones get some problems.

Get the factory unlocked (sim free) version and you are good to go. No other worries.

The procedure Apple mentioned is for carrier models that you buy on contract.

Best way is to get factory unlocked model to get rid of these carrier unlocking hurdles.
