Is 5W-30 oil available in Pakistan

i have been doing some research on engine oil and so far my conclusion is that the only suitable grade of motor oil for honda engines is 5W-30 or 10W-30 motor oil

the problem is that the only oil which i know of is Havoline Formula

Is there any fully synthetic 5W-30 motor oil available in Pakistan?

5W-30 fully synthetic is available at Honda dealerships by TOTAL
5W-30 fully synthetic is available is also available in the Clatex Havoline only on selected oullets.

liquimoly and mobil 1 i have gone to their outlets and they have 5W-40,5W-50, 0W-50 etc but not 5W-30 i am quite sure of this

"Caltex Havoline Energy 5W-30" Caltex people told that they produce limited quantity and mainly in Lahore I think. BUT if you decide for 5W-30 then there is no harm to go for 5W-40 and you would have many brand options.

5w 30 available in micking , 5w-40 in total quartz9000 and 5w-30 also available at honda made by total see behind to check as total is leading in syntetic market making its place used total 5w-40 fully syntetic its awesome

I heard TOTAL uses 30% Reclaimed Oil, so I dont think a recycled product would be that great in the high range.

did your research involve reading the owners manual?

5W30 & 10W30 oils WILL fail in PK as none of them (except some of the top synthetics) will survive the heat of a high compression vtec engine in our summers.

honda is only recommending this oil after it's new partnership with some new oil company so that they can sell more oil. personally i think they should be more responsible and actually do some field research into various oils in PK (where the vehicles are to be used) rather than printing out copies of european owners manuals....

i'd suggest you do some more research into this matter.

Even though mineral oil will do the job, you won't be able to fully feel the difference of synthetic oil, because your car will feel heavy by the extra weight of 20W50 or 15W40 Oil, those oils are really made for heavier engines not altos, civics or corollas.

Cars assembled in Pakistan donot require anything over 30. However, 75% of engine degradation takes place at cold start. It is extremely important that we do use 5W instead of 10W or 15W.

I take it you are not familiar with Fuchs Super GT & Petromin Ultra7, both can handle 5000kms of pakistani environment and offer similar properties to any synthetic available in PK. Do note that even mobil1 has a hard time suspending particles till 10000kms. so using any oil for long drain intervals in PK is likely to cause more harm than good.

BUT, i do agree that if you can afford regular changes and the high prices, then you should go for a synthetic like Mobil1 or Zic XQ as they are both very highend oils.

though i'm allowed to advertize my own product i think i should be fair (something i have tried be always on PW) and i find it unfair when my competitors get bashed for no reason or if someone has their facts wrong/askew about oils.

what you think means nothing, i work in this field. Even our 15W40 has a pour point of -27 degrees (using ASTM D97 test method), i think that far exceeds the requirements for almost anywhere in PK. Also at 15 degrees (one of the worlds recognized "checkpoints" for oil specific gravity) it has a viscosity or 0.887 mm2/s (using ASTM D4052 test method).

please avoid commenting until you have all the facts. Please don't find what i have said rude, i'm just trying to share some info with fellow members and "bust" some misconceptions at the same time.
