Is 5w-30 OK? For Vitz in summers?

Using Mobil 1 5w50 in my corolla 1.8 cvti from 25k kms now. No fuel economy or power related issues. Drain interval is 10k kms. 100% satisfied with this oil.
Fuel economy figures are:
11-13 within city
15-16 on motorway at 120km/h
16-18 on highway at 100km/h

Used 10w30, 5w40 before as well.

they do it right after 60k ..and in some cases after 20k as well

my home driven corolla is 170k n still on 10w40 ... and alot of customers cars driven 100k still on 5w40

yes 5w any can be used n replaced through out year ....

they give you a broad range to choose from, the choice should the "lightest" possible that you anticipate against the weather you will face.

e.g. if you lived in siberia and filled with cheap 20W50, forget about running, the engine will refuse to start as the oil pump cannot turn rock candy

Means if Honda recommends 5W30 be it Karachi or Islamabad i should use it no problem with ambient temperature difference? I was using 5W40 in my Civic whereas owners manual says to use 5W30 but I didn’t use 5W30 because in summers here temperatures reach around 48C with 80-90% humidity.

I am using shell 5w30 in 2005 civic and last year in summer Lahore temperatures went up till 46C.

X30 is good enough. Stick to local brands from authorized distributors ... Mobil 1 etc are waste of money. 5k drain interval is good enough. Logoan ka bas na chalay mobil 1 cooking ke liye bbee use karna shuru kar dein... Lol.

Its not that cheap that people start to use it as cooking oil. It costs 7200rs for 4L bottle. A 4L cooking oil bottle in my house comes for 1000rs. So i can buy 7 bottles of cooking oil which is 4L in the price of single Mobil 1 5W30 Fully Synthetic.

you bet, you should visit USA then - civics are filled with 0W20 when used in either minneapolis or phoenix

google both cities summer and winter temperatures.

Dont overthink this, 5W30 and new filter every 5000 kms - cheap and cheerful, save your money - buy a toy for your kid or gift for your wife/girlfriend with the savings. - Much better life.

What about using 5w30 for a car driven 200k KM. Engine is Toyota 1NZFE. I am planning to pour shell hx7 in it tomorrow.

If the engine is in good Nick only then.
If it smokes or reduce oil then not.

Engine is in best condition. Recommended is either 5w30 or 10w30.

I am using total quartz 9000 5w30 in 2010 gli 192k driven with no issues whatsoever with 9k kms drain interval. For the same price as hx7 which is semi synthetic, quartz 9000 is full synthetic and much better than hx7.
