Is Corolla Immobilizer easily hack able?

dear PW fellows i am really concerned about corolla IMMOBILIZER quality .

have closely observed two cars stealing attempts.

1-cousin parked his grande 2014 in front of house with in 10minutes car was gone. tracker was pulled out and car was taken . all recorded over gate cam.

2-gli 2019 parked in friends garage typically locks of gate were cut ,rare quarter glass was broken, car was moved out of garage but luckily neighbours were awake they fired gun in air and car was left outside gate and thief's ran away.

i wonder both cars had factory IMMOBILIZER installed

does it requires 10 to min to bypass / regenerate new key for car

is there any easy jugar available ?

Grande 2014 didn't come with an immobilizer.

Your questions have the answer in them.
2014 grande didn’t had immobiliser so it was stolen.
2019 gli has immobiliser so that’s why it didn’t got stolen.

Gun fires didn’t save the car it was the immobiliser. If the car hadn’t had one the neighbours wouldn’t even know when the car vanished.

as per googling around and searching pakweels ads corolla 2014 grande had immobilizer .

secondly regarding gli 2019 there were two cars one was stolen and one was saved in process ( but happened in different area)

Immobilizer can be bypassed but it takes sometime.

how much time to reflash cpu or carry a cpu with no key coding ........

swaping cpu seems easy and is with in 10min approch .flashing a cpu for new key may require like 15 to 20min and an expert / advance thief

I am sure the 2019 model one was pulled out of the garrage by a mere dhakka after breaking of quarter glass. 2014 model doesn't have immobilizer.

Car thiefs have very little time to start a car and run away. Immobilizer is a very strong deterrence as it will NOT be easy and will NOT be quick to install a all new ecu, then wire things up and play with ignition and start the car and run away. Nothing is impossible in this world but yes some things can be near to impossible and i believe immobilizer case fall in such category

Push start cars are stealable rather easily even with an immobilizer. The thiefs use range extenders of the remote to unlock and start the car and its gone. That is why there are special pouches available that dont let the signals of remote pass through or it is advised to turn off the remote.

Dont know whether Pakistani theifs can pull off such an activity or not.

Thiefs dont have time. An immobilzer simply increases the time and effort needed to bypass the system.

i am concerned with immobilizer set up ....

gli 2019 has immobilizer in it and even the booklet mentions that it does not guarantee car theft prevention .

so i ask a simple question can we start a car with immobilizer installed with a cpu moded to have no immobilizer chip in it ?
if answer is yes then its less then 5min job to steal a car.

what if thief has cpu with no transponder chip mechanism a moded version .the location of cpu in corolla is engine bay in front ,just pull grips and insert in new cpu......

My friends 2018 grande white colour isb number was stolen from his street in Satellite Town Rawalpindi. It was just 1200km driven. Also reported FIR in New Town Police Station.

because grande has remote start option and its remote frequency may have been amplified or copied .

Immobilizer is not fool prove. A car can still be stolen. All depends on the expertise of the chor.

It was grande cvti 1.8 2018 full option. Don’t know about remote frequency but it was stolen 3 months ago till now no news heard of it and now he regrets his decision to buy a corolla. Although his 2015 civic oriel also is standing most of time in street but never had issue with it.

Immobilizer came in corolla Altis models in may 2016, and for xli gli it came after few months of that. I own one of the first batch car that came with immobilizer. Delivered on 22 may 2016.

A good thing would be to put a steering lock.It will make next car a target for thief than your car.Hope you understand
