Bhai you are still not getting what I am saying. The chassis of evo is not a lancer chassis were they have just placed 4G63T engine and some nice wheels and thats it. The Chassis does looks like a Lancer but it is as far away from the lancer as any other model. The Chassis of evo is a race prep. with extra reinforcements and lightening at strategic places and this makes the chassis stiffer withot adding anything to it and lighter. On the other hand a FTO is a stock street car with no special attention paid to it like the Evo gets from Ralliart. If you think FTO is light weight well at weighs in at 1190kgs without the 4wd system which is placed during modifications coz there is no 4wd FTO from the factory. The 4wd system adds about 150-200kgs of weight with the ransfer case and main shafts and underpinnings. As for the Evo 6 which is the same year as the fto was last made Evo becomes lighter by about 100kgs so where is the weight advantage.
By now you must be wondering why am I discussing this with such interest, well I happen to have a Evo 6.5 TME and Mitsu Eclipse 1st Gen. both are tuned cars for different purposes. Main purpose being drag racing. With the Evo I have raced with cars such as Corvette C5, C6, Lambo Gallardo, Murcielago, ferrari 355, 360, Skyline GTRs, Supras and etc the list is very long. You have to drive a Evo to know what it is, and the FTo is no better then the Eclipse I have which is 4wd from the factory.
To achieve a feat like converting a FWD to 4WD is amazing but lot of effort which could have been used else where but matter of preference I guess, as they say "whatever boils your eggs"
