Is Havoline oil original and good in Pakistan?

Hi,

I bought a car recently, the first owner of the car used Havoline oil, and advices me to use the same. Should i go ahead with this oil or there are some more options that i can try?

Sir, havoline claims 3k for 20w50, 10w30 i guess. How come we can use that for 7k km. Even zic 10w40 claims for 5k km.

"Havoline" retailers don't make engines; car manufacturers do. Their advice on OCI isn't worth anything.

Suzuki dearlships claim 4k on their own Engine oils. Tbh, in my opinion if its mineral oil like havoline 20w50 you should chnge it around 2000-2500, to keep your engine healthy.

Suzuki dealerships didn't make the car either; they are simply a middle man.

Anyways, about the 2k-2.5k figure; why not 1k-1.5k? The engine should be twice as healthy at that interval.

Ownership manual says 5k km for both Engine Oil & its filter.

Hmm, interesting point.

I was thinking a 100 km oil change interval, with 2 micron 3 stage oil purifier in tandem with engine.

What if we make piping to provide fresh oil directly to the engine oil pump as it runs. Imagine the engine only getting new fresh oil while older one is discarded

A better way could be refering to a blog or a video. Bcz max of people in pak listens to illiterate so called ustads whose "choota" tunes ur engine.

I am sorry bro. I didnt know you would to take it to heart. I am not a senior at all and still learning. But the fact is that there is no real benefit of changing the oil too early. Just follow what the car manufacturer says in the manual.

Veterans of these forums have a valid reason to react like this to these topics.

You can search around for those topics and read; its a much better way to absorb knowledge compared to blogs or videos

Well I have been keeping cars for very long time... I follow the following rules:
10W-30 (mineral, like Caltex Havoline Formula) I use it for around 3500-4000km
10W-40 (Zic) I use it for 4000km
5W-30 (Total Quartz 9000, which they claim is fully synthetic) 6000km

Yes i searched a lot regarding my car's oil reduction. Either the threads didn't have valid/enough answers regarding mehran, or there are ridiculous taunts same as above. For toyota, JDM and other cars u might find PhD thesis on threads 🤣. But for simplest&oldest technology we don't have enough info on thread. I wish i can provide u links of threads with no/little help regarding mehran in pm "upon request".
