I seriously DOUBT a 1.8 i-Vtec Civic Auto can lose to a 1.8 VVt-i Altis Auto. I have an Altis automatic and it does go really fast without a doubt but hey, come on now. Race a 1.6 Vti with a 1.6 Se Saloon , youll find the Vti way far ahead.
Similarly, lets go for the facts. Civic is a 5 spd auto mated to a 1799cc engine producing approximately 140hp & 175 nm of torque. The Altis is a 4-spd auto transmission mated to a 1793 producing an estimated 134hp & 170 nm of torque. I havent driven or raced a 1.8Civic so cant give references, but i know for a fact the civic will win if taken on a " time to travel 1 mile scale ".
However it is possible that Toyota's renowned VVt-i can accelerate the Altis from 0-100 FASTER than than the i-Vtec, tho i seriously doubt it. The only reason im giving the possibility is because I have the altis and truly it runs REALLY REALLY fast!
About the topic, Mark X & Accord are different class cars, as i mentioned earlier. A V6 should not be even compared to a 4 cyl engine. However, in terms of looks, stability, handling, power ** & fun Honda has your bet. Though if youre 75 yrs old and want softer seats, plz go for the Mark X , or better yet opt for an entry level Lexus!
