World over policies are made to encourage sales of new cars. Old cars goto scrap yards as early as 5 years in developed countries.
The 4 countries you have lived in a as student or a worker, they sell used cars and buy new ones them selves. So us 3rd world employees or students can buy those scrap cars cheaper.
18 lac or 50 lac. ALTO isn't 18 lack because I prefer new cars. Alto is still around same $8000/9000 where it was in 2015.
Your $ rate messed up.
Any ways. Buying a 2015 Corolla is a better option then buying a brand new Alto any day. With acceptions of it breaking down.
When you are young you have time to go mechanics and get the cars fixed.
As you age you realize it is a lengthy, time consuming and expensive job to keep getting your cars repaired and going to the mechanic again and again.
If you replace your car every 3 years. And pay the difference to your 3 year old car to upgrade.
It's much lesser then maintaining a old car for 3 years.
A set of new tires cost more then 50,000 these days. Other hidden expenses can be so many.
