Is it a wise decision to buy Passo 2006-7 in 2020? Car Advice needed!

As Salam o Alikum,

I am planning to buy a car for myself. My budget is 10lac. I am kind of a fan of japanese cars and live in Abbottabad. So, 660cc JDM cars aren't suitable.

In my budget which is 10Lacs, through internet search, I found that I could get a Passo 2006-7 or Vitz first generation. I like Passo better than vitz.

But I want to know would it be a good choice to go for Passo as it have few issues which are hard to go like engine vibration etc. And also how frequently it would need mantainence? Is it a good first car choice? or should I consider Vitz first gen? Or should I go for some local option like Cultus 2008-11?

Need advice from Passo/Vitz owners who can guide through their experience of owning and having this car,

I believe no harm in going for a 13 years old model Passo car, provided you are able to get one in good condition, and at right price.

Vitz 1st gen. May be avoided. First, it would be quite old model when compared to Passo. 2ndly, to me, it will not be a value to money option. Passo seems better value to money option.

Engine vibration can be taken as normal for a 3 cylinder engine, unless / until vibrations are excessive. 2ndly, routine maintenance is not expensive, provided car is electrically and mechanically fit. 3rdly, spare parts of Passo are also easily available in the twin cities as well as Peshawar, so no issues regarding that too.

In comparison to 1st gen. Vitz, I think its a good choice, still, if you could get hands on a clean EFI Cultus and are comfortable with its MT, then I think, it would be the best option in all 3.

• what should be a good price for a good Passo 2006/7?
• vitz 2005-6 can also be found near 10L bracket. Should Passo be preferred over it since it has more spacious interior?
• At the time of buying, should we take the Passo to check its ECU for any faults etc since you mentioned electronically fit?

Brother I do not have price idea for any car in market, so I regret, I cannot guide in this matter.

Between Passo and Vitz, provided we are comparing similar model years cars (or with difference of at max. 2-3 years), both are acceptable and can be good, however, buy the one in good condition, and is worry and trouble free.

YES! Its a MUST!

Before buying any car, have it scanned via computer / diagnostics tool, for any / all fault codes, malfunctions, etc.

Do take a good look under the body also. Sometimes there can be rust or damage due to weak suspension. I had passo once. The major fault was that there was rust under the body which consumed the whole after 6 years.
