Is it bad for engine to change oil brands and types at every oil change...does it affect engine in anyway

no it isn't bad and it doesn't affect the engine as long as you are using the correct type for your vehicle brand doesn't matter

No not at all as long as you keep the grade of the oil same or pour in any company suggested oil grade, you will not get any problem with the engine.

There are generally no issues if u follow your car manufacturer's specified weight and viscosity as motor oil.

What specifically do you want to do which has brought up this question and perhaps an idea as to which car we are talking about here?
