Is it good idea to buy 100000km run car?

Guys, is it really good idea to spend 10lack to 12lack to buy a used car that has already run 1,00000km? Isn't it time that car is already started eating up money in repair etc? If so then why people buy used cars? Instead of going zero meter car , may be swift? Your thoughts?

It depend upon the condition of the car. A well maintained 100,000 km run car might be a better choice than a 40,000 km badly maintained car.

Every second car is over 100k now now a days if its a daily runner car even imported car mostly came here at 100k
People here make it 45k KM and people like you run for that car so better go for condition not for mileage even original 40 k km car can be riced up

It all depends on how that car is driven. If car is maintained properly then 100K kms are not that much concern.
otherwise if someone can spend 10~12lac, new car is better option, higher kms car would be heavy on pocket even if its fully maintained... u know the term "safaid haathi"

I have bought civic 2003 exi manual, 118000 km petrol driven, only rear bumper is painted rest 100% genuine, back in may 2011, I paid Rs. 945000, its way more than its normal price but I paid for his condition, and yes its Honda 3S maintained throughout, now it has 157000 kms and still going great, giving 12.5km/l on petrol in city and on highway 15km/l.

if the car is maintained properly, 100k km is not much (especially on petrol). you should use other ways to gauge the condition of the car

if the maintenance has been kept up with the age and number of kilometers no problems at all, On the other hand, a car run 50,000 kms with absolute no maintenance (even no oil change) would be rubbish by any standard.

remember that an old model low miles car is also bad as some items age with time not miles - and those items would need to be changed regardless - so it would be a money pit, but a car that has had maintenance done on time properly by proper qualified people will be in perfect serviceable condition. even if it has double the mileage

People Prefer Company Maintained Car But I Doubt That Too......That's Why Always Inspect Car Carefully And A 1st Glance At It Will Tell You The 80% Story Regardless Engine....That You Need To Check Also Later.....!

I Never Go For Mileage But Keep That In Mind And You Can Verify It Later With Engine And Car Overall Looks

I Have Seen Corolla's With 45k On Clock And The Condition Looks Nowhere Less Than 250000km's ......I was Like...Bhai Button Nai Lage We Ankhein Hain.....!

a friend of mine owns a 2006 civic exi eagle eye more than 220000 kms driven and still runs fine and without any problems. once you will visit Karachi market especially showrooms and sunday news paper, you will beat your head on the wall. same happened with me when you see an add mentioned mint condition and when you go to inspect the car, whole car sprayed from road side denter having meter reading 30000 kms and condition rent wali gari se bhe buri hoti haii.

I have once inspected a jenyan civic - "all pees un tuch" - open the bonnet, fuse box lid and spark plug coil cover missing, I find about 10 wire splices, the rest of the wires were cooked with diesel spray, A/C compressor ham fisted, screws/bolts missing from engine, inspect the radiator expansion tank and find it filled halfway with rust and all rubber pipes replaced with "made in faisalabad pipes"

look under the car - all suspension rubber rotten, steering rack loose on bulkhead, ball joints shot, brakes warped, lift carpet inside car and find "dekorasan electriican karistaniyan" for remote locks, etc. underpadding with fungus due to water leak from doors and windshield.
