Is it necessary to set your bike tapered in first tuning?

I've recently bought a Honda 125. I changed my first oil at 300KM, the second one at 1050KM, and the third one at 2000KM. On the third oil change, one of my friends suggested me to go for tuning. He introduced me to a guy which according to him is a superb mechanic.

Now I agreed to his suggestion and send my bike for tuning. Apparently, the mechanic set the tapered for my new Bike. I didn't know at first that the black thing is where the tapered settings are. When I asked Bhai yeh kya cheez 'Bhai meh tapered setting kar rha'...

My question: Is it safe for my bike long run if tapered settings are applied this early?

Ps, I'm feeling a little change in sound, also my bike did a little (Phuttt, Phuttt) noise when I slowed it down.

Those are called Tappet, they are adjustment of rockers on cam shaft.

For new engine they are adjusted loose so that the travel and combustion pressure in engine is less. this has less stress on the engine overall.

this greatly reduces efficiency and average and also reduces power, at the expense of easy movement of the piston and balance weight as the engine is new and there is additional friction of new parts

Once the engine has run a few hundred KM the tappets are tightened so that the maximum power and best fuel combustion can be extracted from the engine.

My bike is around 2100KM now... So in my case, my mechanic has loosened them for less stress on the engine. This doesn't sound that much alarming.

What do you suggest, when Should I go to him and tightened the tappet again...

tappets r set only one way, by the book u cannot set them as per own choice. read owner manual for details
