Is it normal to have small amount of engine oil in air filter

Is it normal to have small amount of engine oil in air filter...

recently when i changed air filter of my ATV i found out its air filter soaked bit of engine oil in it what could be the problem ???

Khan g its not a car its a scooter with 4 tires

its crank hose (PCV hose) is going into air filter box ????

My question is that lets suppose your engine oil is good for 5000km so if you change the filter twice or thrice wont you loose some oil? add to that oil is already consumed in some proportions so if u had 4 liters in the beginnin u might end up with 3.5 litres after about 5000km correct me if i am wrong here

I never experience a mist oil seprater in Pakistani cars , only i can see a open hose.

This is quite normal. It`s an oil mist coming from engine crank case, your air filter, filters the oil and adds air in air intake.

The separator in car engines is now mostly built into the valve cover, some older honda engines had a separate black box at the back of the engine under the inlet manifold that was the oil separator. Some large motorcycle engines have it built into their castings too, some have them as separate replaceable items.I believe the yam raptor engines had it as an external mount item. anyway - its pretty normal if your system does not have a separator.

translation as I cant edit, - normal if your system does not have separator means that oil would be seen in the airbox if the design does not have a separator or is blocked.
