at the moment, yes. no resale at all which is why there is such a lot of advertisement though i fail to understand why. current owners are SO happy. our distinguished members hasnain2005 and tsah15 are two of them. even i would purchase one right away if i had the money. JUST the right price for such a fully loaded car (m talking about the 849000/- CNG version they have)

why do ppl think of resale. in UK,a new car which cost £9k is worth only 1/3 of its value after 3 years.

so if i sell it after 3 years it will only go for £3k.

Why do ppl care about resale - just keep the car and treat it well.

As for Liana, this is what whatcar.co.uk says about it.

FOR: Good value with reasonable passenger space. High equipment levels and decent residuals make it a sound private purchase.

AGAINST: Awful ride quality ruins all of the Liana's plus points. Space for luggage isn't that clever, either.

@haidi, the case is reverse in pakistan, the older the car the more you could fetch. I bought an 84 model fx in 90 for 60K and now it costs above 100k !

Sir: I do think SUZUKI LIANA is a flop from the sale and re sale point of view. But if you watch the whole package of LIANA it is not flop. My cousin bought Liana two weeks ago. It is not so costy. It has more space. Yes the shape is simple. But has a lot features. Its control is very good. And it is very spacious. Like BALENO it has also not left the power and stability. I do not think its flop from a personal view.

the car is flop .....one of my friend working in Pak-Suzuki told me that the Japanies(Senior) in the factory intentionally destroyed a liana with a fork lifter...the reason was the bad sales for Liana---the mechanical problems they are having ---mainly the Head Gasket bringing more than the expected complaint ratio.....

Is a Liana owner allowed to speak? I sold XLi to buy Liana. On next Islamabad Meet we shall have Fzaman (a PW member) who shall deliver a special talk on Liana' s features that other cars in the same category dont have. Catalyic convertor and SIS ECU being two features absent in others. Yes brace yourself for this. It has 2 ECUs, one for Petrol and one for Gas.

The ride is stable, the A/c is chilling and music system is awesome. The 4rth generations injector type CNG kit is trouble free. The inlay is neat and roomy. Panel and guages are easy to read and a pleasure to see. There is less noise inside the cabin even on motorways. The bonnet is insulated. Braking is much better than City and Corolla. I get an average of 180 Kms with A/c in City driving, provided the CNG station is good. Hard to believe? I have the records. Roll bar inside the front bumber takes on a lot of impact in case of accident.

I would recommend the car any time over City and XLi. The ABS version, I am told, is much better. Anyone interested in a test drive is welcome to use mine.

Do you mean Liana has FF SIS CNG system? Anyhow the M-series Suzuki engines are quite good though, and have the roar, not the whine of the F-series and G-series.

No offense to existing liana owners or fans but why won't people take a good look at the lancer before buying an xli/liana or city ?!

@ shani. Lancer has low ground clearance. Its 2005 model. No 2007 available.

The CNG kit is normal 3rd generation and spares are extremely expensive. Engine is a bit noisy (1.6) and resale is a hassle. The base model is semi powered. Tacky interior. Congested one. You rub shoulders with your partner on the front seat.

Silly topic indeed.. Why don’t you discuss about Proton, if it’s a flop or not. I personally think it’s a great car…

One must drive Liana to experience the comfort and value for money it is offering… I have the eminent 1.6 since August 06... beside, I have a company provided Civic also… When I come to choose which one to drive, I always choose Liana… It’s a great Car at its price, no doubt…

As for Lancer, its above Liana for sure, but just look at the price tag it has and for years it just couldn’t fit in our country because of Low Resale and expensive parts… Mitsubishi had enough time, but on the other hand, Liana is only a Year Old…

i heard that there are some issues with the cng kit,there have been discussions on pakwheels about it.I know that its the top of the line SIS kit suzuki uses but heard there were some noise and pick problem. Since you own one and on your trips for regular maintenance you would have had the opportunity to interact and get feedback from other owners,so id really like to have your take on how the cng kit is doing in general and not just on ur car.

@gypsy: Well if the partner is for romantic purposes, you need to rub something else, other than the shoulder.

@ bluntkinife: Sir. There have been instances of low pick but they were taken care of by refreshing the software and uploaded 2 missing files. The noise is of injectors. But its not at all audible inside the cabin.

Suzuki has introduced APV with company fitted CNG injector kit. Its of BRC company. The injectors produce very low noise. Perhaps 2008 would see the same kit in Liana.

Anyway, overall I would say the kit is much much better than the ordinary ones, sold "over the counter".
