Is Proton Impian Waja 1.6 2009 worth buying?

I am planning to buy Proton Impian Waja 1.6 2009 model. I don't have any plan to sell the car. I heard that its spare parts are available in Karachi near Brooks chowrangi. The seller is car's first owner and asking 8.5lacs for the car. Please share your experience with the car if you ever had it. Please also suggest what could be good price to buy this car?

Proton Gen 2 was sporty hatch type, the picture seems different.

friend of mine bought one new, he used to order filters in bulk through Ali Express due to availability issue in Lahore, not sure about Karachi, however its a good nice little solid car,, i really liked the exhaust note, its based on Mitsubishi, right?

honestly, in 850000 you shall choose a used jdm Vitz plenty of parts & easy on maintenance. Proton is from Malaysian brand, an orphan brand in Pakistan the engine is from Mitsubishi while the rest of mechanicals & body parts are as hard to source as nuclear isotope.

save your money stay away

I have heard good things about this car. But the problem is the availability of body parts and I think suspension also, if you do travel to far east phir i think you can go for it...otherwise stay away.
In that price range one has a few other options also... slightly older models but parts availability will not be an issue.

I also heard mixed reviews but i don't know why people hesitate to buy, its just because parts are hardly available? Plus what other options are there in this amount.

I think main reason was that only a small numbers of cars were imported and sold here...there was no after sale support, so you can well imagine.
As for the other options...I would say a CLEAN Liana is a good option (though many over here will not agree), but my 4-5 years experience of Liana was good. You might also get a good 2005 City.
Personally, I am someone who would go for a newer model be it a small car....newer is always better
