Is the BRV still a good buy?

I went to Naran . I could not believe how many brv's I saw . Some speeding two or three in a line ,many were rentals I figured. People preferred Corolla's for rentals now they are going for Brv's for 7 seats for small families.

I think Brv is not a good car in this segment. There are far more better cars.
If you are looking to buy a new one then:
Cherry tiggo 4 pro (5 million)
Kia stonic (4.8 million)
MG zs (4.4 million)
These are better then brv in every sense. Though these companies are new but I think the should have a good resale value.
I think you should go for cherry tiggo 4 pro. Its quite a good car.
And brv is not even close to these cars.
If you want to go for used then there are lots of options.
But I think if you have this budget then you should definitely go for a new one.

Well I am a BRV owner, read all comments above. Few are recommending based on their experience and some are comparing with fancier newer launched models. What I see important is the utility of BRV. People who require higher seating capacity in lowest most price tag would always opt for BRV. No doubt it is fairly comfortable, has moderate modern features like CVT, abs, air bags, keyless, power doors windows etc and above all serves tons of purposes for an ordinary Pakistani family.
Those who are looking for many bells & whistles, extra trims and kiddish like toy features (most of them are turned off after few days) may not like it.
I happily own and use this car since last 2 years and wish to continue owning it as my kids are growing older and we like to go on trips frequently.
Fuel average depends how you apply your foot.
After sale service - No worries about future of Honda, customers of new entrant Chinese companies may take extra ordinary risk in buying those unheard brands and commiting a great deal of their savings on stake.
PS. This piece has been written for an average middle class Pakistani family. Not for filthy rich mom dad ppl, who have no dearth of Dad's capital.,

Not really.

BRVs appear to have a poor ride quality, poor sound insulation (lots of wind noise on highway speeds) and stiff suspension.

If you dont want 7 seats get a Grande. It's an SUV in a sedan shape lol.

first of all decide if u have a need of a 7 seater, then go for it.

now a days most of the cars are selling above their prices. i have used with 9 ppl including from lahore to isb, then khera gali and back. this car didnt disappointed me. good space, good comfirt, ac was good. on motorway it gave 14-15 and on upper side it gave 11. the drive is like city and u wont feel driving a bigger car. On motorway, wind does gives some feel but the car i used was already clocked 40k kms so it maybe the tires.

However, the new comers are good choices but keep in mind their after sales and their existence, becuase keeping in view the current economic conditions, thye can leave the business just like previous times when kia, hyundai and other brands left.

Brv does not have poor ride quality at all. It is somewhat akin to Honda City.

Regarding sound insulation, yes that's a point.

Stiff suspension , no such thing.

if its not an SUV , its really close. There is a saying "Form follows function". I have found this to be very true regarding people. But this also goes for Brv (only). You can seat 6 people in good comfort without moving the second row seats forward (what else do you want).

Petrol mileage is good also. But I am talking about the manual model and not the CVT. Due to back problem I had to buy City 1.2 cvt and I still don't like it. the fuel mileage is very bad considering that it is a cvt and 1.2.

However city 1.2 manual has good pick and gives good mileage. My brv gives around 16 at 100 to 110. At higher speed the average goes down to 14-15.

In city with heavy foot I get 11-12. But driving easily and normally I get 14 easily.

I am not in love with Brv but I am just stating the facts

Another thing about comparing cars is to compare it with same models and prices. brv started 6 years ago and now comparing it with current models of tiggo etc is doesnt makes sense.

every car has it own benfits and shortcomings. brv does have them so.

Price might not make sense but its utility will make sense.

One knows that all parts of Brv are available in the market easily. Same is not the case of the other chinese brands. In foreign brands this point (to some extent) is only enjoyed by KIA sportage.

Unfortunately sportage is 5 seater and not 7 seater otherwise I might have purchased it. I like its height which is more than brv. Brv is 200 mm high from the side skirts while Sportage is minimum 250 mm high. My brother had it for a while and its side step was quite high (maybe even more than 250 mm)

That makes sense and the price translate that as it's cheaper than Civic which it shouldn't but probably around 1.5X to 2X of City. yes Altis Grande seems to be a better option if you're not looking for additional seats

Prices of cars are insane in pakistan due to various factor. The new alto is around 26 lacs and we can imagine this doesnt justifies anything with the size, quality and options of the the,car.

Why we are comparing altis/grande with brv when they are different altogether.
