that would be pointless. It maybe oldstock, as the new axle greases are urea based and have more tackiness. I recall old axle greases from USA being gray in colour, it had a muddy appearance to it but was perfect for use. Later on Ive bought these blue tubes - and they were black as "bus ka silencer" performed the same. But for gen knowledge, CVJ grease should start to liquify under heat - thats how it gets through the whole joint and keep it lubed, if it didnt melt, the grease would get pushed into the boot and the joint would run dry.
To be economical I just bought a 2 kg bucket and used to measure out what I needed from a grease gun. If you are a bunch of freinds all of you can chip in and buy the bucket. It would be available as most oil/lube agencies like Fuchs, ZIC, or small importers like the old cofran agency i used to buy from.
