Is Turbo Any Good in Pakistan

I want ur thoughts tht r turbos any good in the pakistani enviornment i mean is the air gud enuf cuz here in lahore their r many modded cars and the guyz which have used turbo modifications say tht the dont get the power which they shud have got after buying a stage 3 turbo for 45000 (For Honda CIVIC VTi) the car is only able to do 225 KM/h while a modded Cultus can do 240+Km/h (Muffler + G16BB engine + Minor tweaks and obviosly Aerodynamic upgrades)

Waqas , turbo dosent means that you can do 300 Km in a 140 km car but what it really changes is the aceleration speed from one point to another.

i.e. let say a non turbo car dose 0-100=10 sec
same car with turbo should do 0-100 6-7 sec.

Pakaistan envoirnment is not good for turbo at all.

reason 1: too much Dust.

reason 2: you have to run turbo on the 98RON (hi octan fuel) most of the time.

reason 3: to keep your turbo running smooth you need performance motor oils for your engine which i think are hardly avialable in PAk.

i agree,that the problem with having turbo engines in pakistan, apart from the dust,the lack of quality lubricants, and high octane petrol,,, the other factor is the HEAT!! turbo engines genarate a lot of heat,thats why u need intercoolers, induction kits, heat shields,etc etc and the high temp's of pakistan are not very good 4 a turbo'd engine, thus resulting in high maintanance costs, expensive rebuilds,the need 4 shorter service intervals, etc etc......but with the modern "naturally aspirated" fuel injected engines, u can get quite good power with out the need 4 forced turbo induction! take the ford zetec and duratec engines, bmws m3& m5 engines, v-tecs,rover k series,alfa's vvt engines etc etc 2 name but a few, all non turbo,but with enough power for an a-b slog.....granted not as quick as turbo's, but not far behind,and cheaper 2 buy and maintain.......................

well said Superman. also i would like to mention to tune/ fix the turbo engines we need qualified mechanics as there is lots more to just changing the oils and filters in them also need some places to do the dynos as well.

well turbo was designed for carbeurator cars to incresase the fuel intake i mean convert the low compresion input into hign ones to use it on a efi is a mistake in first place unless u make all the alterations such as low compression exhausts wider intakes cones etc etc and is specially used for nos usage in efi cars

hi every 1 first of all i disagree wid some of u guys turbos work well on efi as well as on carburetted engines prime example the most highly modified cars in the states are honda vti hatch and integra both efi and about the heat and dust problem well i does effect the turbos performance but wat r cold air intakes for about the dust u scrooges get ur car serviced every week end and if u guys dont beleive me about the heat problem then for ur information california, LA, miami the hottest places in usa ARE the home grounds frm where all of this modifying and tuning up started!

you have to remember that its pakistan we are talking about where you have to change the engine oil every 1500km-2000K for an average 800 cc car.

Now ask any turbo car owner if he/she/it ever dose that in US : answer will be simply no. coz in US cars comes with 6 mths / 8000 mph service

So A country where you can not get clean air, original motor oils and filters, and good fuel, how will you turbo survive.

Intercoolers, turbos , good / fully qualified mechanics , Accesories for turbo engines, i.e. extractors, mainfolds, fuel and air pressure regulators, high quality spark plugs etc
do you think above things are available in pakistan and at what cost ?????

HEy again...i Just went through this topic and found something interesting....firstly DUSt ...i have a turbo charged corrola and as far as i know im not have any problems in in ..its running smooth and the turbo itself has only given me a 260 hp gain on the run.. boosts at 2700 rpm and stays strong till the end... dust as far as i know does u no harm...purchase spiral max and that would do you the job...and incase of dust what so ever ... you get imported injen high performance cold air intakes...that would do the job as the water proof as well..dont trust me check them out your self at drag racing.com youll find it there :)... turbos are a supreme and the most easy way of giving you extra boost... as i saw your member car section i found out that its a total lie that a bloody civic can do 0-60 in 3.5 cause thats what not even my car gives me...i have this slight problem of laggin yet but im gonna order my HKS blow off sequential vavles soon..and thats gonna make it to a very much possible 2.78 sec for the 0-60 km without the lag... currently it give me a 3.9 with the lag...you must be wondering if im lieing or telling the truth...figure out for your selves...hks plugs...10 mm Latest plug wires..K&N carb air intake...alumunium forged pistons.....turbo charged (260 hp gain)....headers.....aPEXI boost controller......5zigen cat back exhaust system bought from dragracing.com for $510 plus shipping...venom intake manifold....cam shaft stage 2...flywheels...short shifters...i.c.e pak ignition box..and last but not the least...AEM fuel pressure regulators and VENOM hi flow fuel injectors...hope you like my car...ive spent my entire time on building up this baby...still dont belive me...remeber the nitrous oxide i told you about...BOC GASES ltd Pakistan we MAke it AdiOS GUys HOpe to See yea SoOn

Superchargers r way better then turbos although they do not give as mush boost as a turbo charger does but still they r long lasting have their own oil storage , superchargers atleast give 40% inc in pwr on stock engines there is 1 supercharged civic in karachi and has tremendous performance .

All i said is i loved the way ur car sounds and i would definetly love to see pics yup!! definetly u cant take pics of those forged pistons/spark plugs/fuel pumps or whatever but boost controllers/BOV/exhaust etc can be captured.
Well dude im looking for a boost controller for my baby i would be thankful if u could help me out i need to have a controller either used or new but resonable price and i also need a racing clutch cuz mine is almost out.
if anyone could guide me.

hey gtti...in that case thanks for the compliments... i will show you the pictures of my cars exhaust and the bov im going to order it isnt here yet..frankly speaking i havent even purchased it yet but im plannign to as soo nas i do ill take the pictures of the bov ..exhaust...and the boost controller...sson enough ..oh and id either mail them to you or post them on toyotagtturbo.com..... security reasons any ways take care ..oh and almost forgot.... the boost controller that you might just need will be at optimum motor sports second hand...i saw it once there used ..go see if there there try ya luck whats it gonna cost you... any ways see you guys ..post up some good topic so we can chit chat on it AdiOS

great! even im searchin for a website which will offer me a cheap/good performance BOV/engine management. but firstly i have to put boostcontroller, ill check out optimum/RPM both btw how much it will cost me lunatix? gimme a estimate. im not gonna go for those high end brand names but just good performance ones either used or new.

HEy GttI...frankly speaking .... if you do want a boost controller then you must have to go for the high prices i went for 28000 and got it...ill show it to u in some time...i think u should go to optimum ...though i dont know him or anybody...i guess a rough estimate of the second hand would be that you would get it 4 approx 18000 if your good at talking and if you want a new one then some where in 28000 if prices havent fallen or increased... site ...dragracing.com my fav...any ways id prefer that you dont get it...its a waste of money for me actually....... i mean its good and all but not worth 28000 straight forward bro..no hidding stuff...hey can you tell me a really cheap place from where i can get some paint job done..like my bumpers repainted...there in bad condition Looking forward to every bodIes reply..eNJOy adIOS BUbYEs

well,lunatix! i u really want something awesome then go to pappu! he's located near UBL Sports complex in Fedral-b-Area he does body mods for cars or if u just want a simple but tite paint job then i would say noone is perticular when i want paint job then i go to my mechanic so u can go to urs
Well, spending this much amount of money for my car who will cut ur fuel after reachin 13 or 15psi is useless i would rather prefer making a adjustable valve kinda thing and install it myself too. 28000? i would rather prefer asking my cuz to provide me a second hand T04 turbo somewhere form US.

how much boost ur turbo pushes?which turbo do u have?
i tried and installed a vacume between my boost control solonid and turbo but i was achieving uncontrollable boost around 1.3 bar and car was really kickin @--*$$ but when i entered into 3rd i saw my ecu alram light so i stopped at that very moment and threw it out.
now i found out another way to increase my boost and this one is definetly a safer one, ill install a petrol/gas converter of GENERATOR (the switch which is used to change supply from gas to petrol and vice versa) and put it there and then ill control boost myself mechanically i did that one to try and i achieved 13psi without any prob and car was running fine. this is the best way i found out to incearse boost rather then emtying ur pockets .
