Is Vezel underpowered compared to Civic?

In econ mode the Vezel takes a while to downshift a gear or 5 if you floor it, however, once it gets going it's really strong, much stronger then the civic but people will still argue because being Japanese it would lock at 180 190kph. This and the transmission 'delay' are the only characteristics of the Vezel but it's still better then that cvt in the new civics

I have the new Civic (1.8) and on M2 motorway i have smoked plenty of vezels. Vezel is certainly quicker off the line but i feel as if it doesn't live up to it's hype on high speeds.

Its never under 7 sec range . Its between 8.5-9.0 .

Vezel is quick off the line, but the high speed pull is surprising, vezels in Pakistan I've seen seem underpowered because of the condition of them, I've easily won from civics with my car fully loaded with people. Yes I get your point I've driven vezels that are a bit underwhelming, but comparing apples to apples, the vezel takes it

Once the Vezel's battery juice runs out, it falls flat on its face. That's why it isn't suited for long high speed runs.

Well, i agree with the maintenance part but who has a supreme condition Vezel out there? And as mentioned by another member, the battery drain out factor is also there coupled with the speed limiter.
A vezel simply cannot outrun a Civic on high speed drags

Well yes it's a hybrid the electric boost will eventually run out on the any hybrid vehicle. A 0 to 180 or rolling to 180 won't affect it much but ripping it for long and on long runs will especially drain it's battery

Basically, you can't go wrong with either of them, Vezel is nippy and civic is the ultimate pkdm cruiser. You'll get better fuel economy, features, a sportier drive, ground clearance. Civic has plenty of features too, its also a safer car to buy if you don't have enough knowledge about Vezel, you can't buy a 'bad' civic.
