Islamabad-Naran trip: Best time to hit the road?

Hi guys

We (a few friends and families) are going from Isb to Naran at the end of this month. I was wondering if you guys could give me some pointers on the ideal time to travel on this route when I can avoid the traffic rush and chaos. I heard that Abbotabad is a major bottleneck. Is that true? What time can I avoid it? Any help is much appreciated especially from the residents of these areas

Best time is early morning around 5am (leaving time). I just returned 2 days ago so i been through that, road is very smooth till Naran/Kaghan (gets worse after that).

Thanks for the reply. Did you also go to Shogran? If yes, how are the road conditions to go upto Shogran by own car or do you suggest to take a jeep? Will it be ok if I leave around 7am, then I'll be hitting Abbotabad around 9am, too late?

Dear are you sure that road is worst after naran because I also returned from naran two days back and road is very good after naran as well except Battakundi bridge and approx 1km road around it.

5-6 in the morning is best to leave Islamabad, In this way you can reach naran around 1-2 pm.

Morning times are best to avoid rush. If you leave isb around 4 AM you can cross Abbottabad by 7AM easily. Abbottabad oneway narrow main road is traffic and rushy place. But you will not find much rush after crossing the murree road turn.

Well i prefer always early morning departure like after fajar. People sleeping in bed while we get out from main city.
