I have an major issue that i am going to buy toyota car 1979 model in karachi and it was registered from punjab (IDA-) number there is an issue that i am asking him to saw me NOC and original number plates of car then he said that there is no original number plates like in our karachi we have and there is no need any NOC and it have old book of the car and i am really confused can anyone help me? As far as I know IDA plates were not supplied by the government and in those days the owner would get them made from any shop. The important thing to check is the car papers. Who is the owner of the car? Is the car in the name of the seller? If it's not in the seller's name please ask him to get it in his name and only then buy it. If you won't do this you will have to locate previous owners and get car transferred to your name from Islamabad Excise and taxation office. You won't be required to go but previous owner has to be present in person at the ETA office at the time of transfer.
ETO Islamabad office is now issuing official plates for ID- series. Price 1,300. Owner has to apply with photocopy of reg doc and CNIC. Takes a month to get new plates.

Brother he said car was on open letter and he also said there is no need for NOC for using isl reg car in khi and he also said he didnt have any original playes and there is not plates for 1970's car

Don't go for it as it will be a real hassle to keep it legal. Try to go for clean ride . Listen to your mind not heart

My suggestion would be to forget it. Unless you're getting it for free. Too many complications in its papers. If I'm not mistaken, a car on open letter is a risky thing and not really legal. Walk away.
