Islamabad to Ayubia park direction

Hi everyone .. I recently shifted to Islamabad and want to take my family to Ayubia park for the first time self driving, need your help please:

1. Is it safe to travel with family having an infant?
2. Safest route from Islamabad to Ayubia for first timer? I will be using GPS
3. What are the costs involved for the park entertainment?
4. Safe to drive at night on return?

Never been to Murree so it will be a good start, I am planning to go in the morning and come back by night same day not sure if we should stay the night and where or do you think morning till evening will be enough?

As you are shifted to Islamabad. You test your driving skills at hills in Margallas (Upto Pir Sohawa)... If you can drive there... you can drive in Galyat area.

Yes its OK for an infant... no problem... but take light warm clothes for kid..

If you reside there for a night.. then it would be good...

Always remember.. don't travel in hills in night... waisay in night there is all ok for security.

Route is Islamabad-Murree approx 50 Km... Use left (old murree road) it separate from 17 Meel...

Actually there are two roads... One is Murree Expressway... Don't follow this road...

Use old murree road...

from murree (sunny bank chowk) go to Murree Mall road.... spend some time there go pindi or kashmir point if you want to see murree..

After this... come back to sunny bank and go to Nathia Gali Road...

Nathia Gali is approx 30-35 km from Murreee.

Ayubia is name of a national park that spreads from Changla Gali to Bara Gali or so...

But where ayubia chair lift is present.. people say it ayubia....

Going on nathia gali road from murree after 20 km you reach the Kuza Gali and turn right for Ayubia...

Ayubia chair lift is 3km from here.

Enjoy there chair lift...

You can trek there also... pipeline trek..

and then come back to Kuza gali again... after that you drive to Nathia Gali... excellant views on whole road.. enjoy nathia gali... some 10-15 km from kuza gali...

Enjoy Nathia gali area... watch Mount Meeran Jani from there....

and then i recommend you that you go to abbotabad from nathia gali...

Nathia Gali to Abbotabad 30 km

From Abbotabad you can back to islamabad via haripur, havelian, taxila... and then islamabad.

From Murree you can go also to New Murree Patriata.. beautiful chairlift and cable car is there.

One night stay somewhere is recommended...

Don't drive in night..

Entry of park is free... chair lift charges might be somewhere 100-200 (infant free)

If you really want to enjoy the long and exciting chair lift experience then I would suggest that you should visit Patriata also

It is perfectly safe... I have seen some women with 2-3 month old children in Murree and Ayubia etc.

2. Safest route from Islamabad to Ayubia for first timer? I will be using GPS.
There are two ways.
1. Islamabad - Bharakahu - Chattar - Ghora Gali - Murree - Ayubia.
This is the old road that was used before the new Expressway was built. It is a two way traffic road and I wouldn't suggest it for a first timer although it is shorter.
2. Islamabad - Bharakahu - Murree (via Expressway) - Ayubia.
From Islamabad to Murree there is absolutely no problem. Double Lane One way traffic. Just the last couple of KM's are hard where you will need to shift to Petrol and 1st or 2ng gear as CNG might not be able to carry the car. Once you reach near Murree ask anyone to guide you to Ayubia road. Once on the Ayubia road it will be slightly uphill but nothing that CNG can't manage. Form Murree to Ayubia it is almost 35KM and it takes usually 1hour.

3. What are the costs involved for the park entertainment?
Almost nothing... There are two type of activities you can do there...
First is to ride the Chair Lift. the last time I went there it was Rs. 100 per person.
Secondly you can do some walk in the Ayubia park or hiking etc which involves a Rs. 5 ticket. Since you are with infant so hiking/long walk is not recommended. But still you should walk a few minutes on the Ayubia-Dunga Gali Pipeline track. It is a 4km track which involves no ascend or descend(Of course you can return whenever you feel it is enough). You can see hundreds of Monkeys. Very highly recommended.
4. Safe to drive at night on return?
Yes it is safe to drive in night....

a peace of advice. If you dont have FOG lights installed . u should. because mostly after the evening it is almost impossible to view the road due to FOG these days.
