Can anybody suggest hotels suitable for stay with family around Bahawalpur/Rahimyarkhan and the best route, is the motorway from Faisalabad to Multan operational? Thanks for reply

Faisalabad-Multan motorway is not operational. The best route would be following M2-N5 (1625 kms) or just N5 (1550 km) all the way. Its double road, carpeted well.

A little shorter route would be Islamabad - Faisalabad (M2-M3) and then take Painsara - Jhang - Shorkot - Kabirwala - Multan road (its single and in bad shape), And from Multan onwards, follow N5 till Karachi. This will be 1480 km approx with a single road of 210 km from Faisalabad to Kabirwala.

Thanks Xoofi, I'll prefer a good double road for safe journey. Any idea where I should stay for night as I couldn't do it without stop over.

Night stay in Bahawalpur (recommended) or Rahim Yar Khan (depending in your speed or early arrival).

In Rahim Yar Khan New Ambassador hotel Shahi road is a good family hotel.Mr Javed/Aamir are the Managers.

I always advise to adopt FSD~Pensra~Gojra~TT Singh~chichawatni~Khanewal route(Excellent road) instead of Jhang route.

saleemi I'll take your advice. Thank you though a choice of hotel in Punjab but nearer to Sind is appreciated. As I would like to arrive Karachi before sunset.

Stay in RYK or sadiqabad would be suitable.
Another optional route is Lilla---->Khushab---->Jhang---->Kabirwala---->Multan---->Bahawlpur-->RYK-->Karachi
Excellent road condition and you can use M2 till Lilla interchange (H)

Main N-5 is just 10 min drive from shahi road in Rahim yar khan.

saleemi I have located shahi road thru Bahadarpur road, lloks like that is city area. If I don't find anything on outer side or in Sadiqabad, I might go to that hotel.

bro i think the BEST route is:
ISB - LHR= motorway
LHR- RYK=N5 (stay at RYK)
RYK- KHI=N5

some good hotels in RYK:HOTEL LAMIS,HOTEL WHITE PALACE AND AL-MASHRIQ HOTEL(I GUESS)
my suggestion of staying in RYK is,you will probably reach there at sunset (IA) and if u go further thn after sadiqabad,following the N5 route,there is some portion of N5(sadiqabad-sukkur) which is so rough to drive at night.that would bother u much..

and if you go via "fsd-shorkot-kabirwala-multan" that would be shorter undoubtedly but besides the fact tht it's a single road(that would take even more tym than that of N5) the road condition isnt too good to drive..

so i would suggest you to go via N5

I have travelled on all possible routes from isb to bahawalpur and best i could recommend and my personal fav is

[U]FSD~Pensra~Gojra~TT Singh~chichawatni~Khanewal route(Excellent road)[/U]instead of Jhang route.

Jhang route is some 60 km short but road condition is quite poor plus lots of trucks and heavy traffic to overtake / play with.

Above said route is as good as moterway.. you can easily hit 120 and plus..
