Islamabad to Muzaffarabad

Hello guys,

We are planning a family trip from Islamabad to Muzaffarabad in early June.
We have a cultus 06 and mehran 08. Both mechanically alright.

We are a family of 8 people plus two small kids.

Can you please guide us the following.

Best route to follow
Scenic places to stop
Petrol availibility
How many days we can ideally plan for this? Places to stay?
Whats the weather like? Clothes?

We are reading up on the older threads to understand the situation but all helping tips will be welcome.
We'll ditch the CNG cylinders and use the area for bags.

Good place to visit.
Weather will b like islamabad during day nd a bit less hot during night. Best route will be murree old road. Very good scenes nd lot of roadside restaurants for food. You can stay for night in bhurban as lot of hotels nd motel at road wd variety of rent options. In muzaffarabad best hotels are mir continental at the entery nd then sangam hotel at domail and lot of guest houses at upper chatter. Every commodity available. You can go to tourism dept office at upper chatter close to state bank for variety of info. I wd hve given you more info on cell not in Pakistan now adays as I m a resident of mzd. You can visit pir chanasi. Sudan gali . Kutton valley etc

Seems beautiful. Would there be snow around those parts in June? I am still looking for answers to my questions.

No i dont think there will be snow at this time. the pic was taken in start of April last year when i visited it. Weather will be the same as in Islamabad i.e. Warm. Petrol will be avaliable on Murree road upto Kohala... from there onwards till Muzzafarabad there might b just 1 or no petrol pumps. In Muzzafarabad there is a sangam hotel which has reasonable rates and good accomodation.

Ok this Sangam hotel is costly. Guys, come on, Give us a medium level place to just spend night as days we'll mostly be out anyways.

How much Sangum Hotel has quoted you? , couple of years back when I stayed there I paid Rs 2,250 including breakfast (they asked me 4,500) and that was a big corner room ( river side) negotiate with them don't take river side room and they will reduce rent , There is always room for negotiations....

You must include Pir chinasi which is just 25 km away from mzf.
