Dear everyone, the poster visited at my workshop after a prior whatsap conversation where he asked about the prices of throttle cleaning, intake manifold cleaning and catalytic cleaning. He was quoted the decent prices and he told me he visited somewhere for *tuning * and they didn't gave him satisfactory job and he went to them for good pickup and which was same after the service.
However I didn't gave him any appointments since we are busy these days in pre eid project clearances. He came to my workshop and told one of my workers and said he has already talked to me and just proceed with throttle cleaning and cat cleaning. My worker asked him did you ever do fuel filter change where he replied no idea.
So they opened the fuel filter and showed him that it was really black and soaked in sludgy fuel, seemed block.
Upon discussion he told them to replace it. And proceed with throttle cleaning and fuel filter replacement.
Since my whole team was caught up in other jobs being done so they left those jobs and shifted there focus to this about 2-3pm they came.
I was enroute with some client meeting and around
4ish they messaged me saying please come we are stuck we brought a start car and now the car isn't getting started.
After the meeting I returned to the workshop querying my team that what has happened, they informed me about everything and said they ordered a fuel filter and installed it and after that car wasn't starting.
I completed my testing and found out the fuel pressure reaching fuel rail was very low so I told them to check fuel rail and injectors. They told me there were some direct wires brought to fuel pump from fuse box were placed here earlier so they've traced them and pump is receiving voltage for now but someone did Desi juggar on their car bringing in wires from fuse box to fuel pump (strange)
Long story short I found out the new fuel filter was leaking from middle, some manufacturing fault. Scolded the vendor and got the new fuel filter.
After seeing the condition of fuel filter and strainer I told them to change fuel pump as well whereas they were keen to get it started and will come later for fuel pump replacement. After installing the new fuel filter the car fired right away. Now according to them they said its taking two cranks to start.
Predicting the condition it looked the fuel pump is also compromised. But they then said later we will come since we've to leave to home.
They asked for the bill where I told him I already told you on WhatsApp earlier they said my worker quoted him 2000 rupees for throttle cleaning plus cat cleaning and everything in it. Where I said firstly I quoted you the prices myself, secondly you misquoted that you had an appointment today. Now you are debating on price, a price that is nowhere justified.
However I still tried favouring them and said tell me what do you want to pay. And I got a little rusty as they were behaving as if they're new in the market. However still favoured them and gave them a discount of some amount.
However after few days, I saw a Google review. I think they posted same day on pakwheels too.
I contacted him and asked about this and asked him what do you want to do, do you want a refund for the fuel filter as he said someone has told them this is back pressure of fuel filter (a very false logic) but I still said okay how much refund do you need. They said 3400
And told me that he will order the fuel filter from somewhere else and return my filter plus he said he didn't got any other service from anyone so this 3000 from another mechanic was a false claim which is wrong . I said it's fine and refunded him the amount and he deleted the review and was impressed by the customer service and praised me for it. I even said even if you are unable to solve this problem you can visit me anytime. He was obliged and said he is okay.
The issue of this whole scenario was barging in at my premises without any appointment and taking my name that I've given appointment. After this I scolded my staff not to entertain anyone without my permission.
First of all anyone who doesn't changes their cars fuel filter for very long interval should be mentally prepared for fuel pump replacement too and sometimes bad parts do come in Stock and good spirit is to replace that part to ensure the best functionality which my vendor did and i rectified this issue. Plus one should have a little patience if something like this happen, it's just a matter of an hour or two but pushing someone to call of their schedule and not being patient when it comes to them to wait. This is really bad. And sad thing is I've to narrate an essay over here since anyone can write anything as its freedom of speech.
