Issues after installing performance headers

Salam,

I have recently installed 4-2-1 Performance headers in my Civic 98 with D16Y4 engine, i'm facing issues while stuck in traffic jams car start losing power and started to missing while in gear and sometimes misfires. This happens only in traffic jams. Before installing performance headers it was working fine.
Performance headers with inner diameter of 1.75inch.
These are details of car,
Cold air intake, exhaust muffler and rest remains stock.

Any idea ?

Yeah at high revs it works perfect. 4-2-1 headers are 4 pipes with diameter 1.75" while 2 pipes with 2" dia it might be causing issues at low revs.

Nops no check lights at any point.

Dear it's headers that's causing issues. i will get it replaced to old one on coming weekend.

no it's not, i've already mentioned it.

misfiring is not related to headers,

if it was due to slow speed, it would also happen at idle.

actually this misfire happened once and it's like same misfire as when crab car or bikes does when they become over. All these things started to appear after installing 4-2-1 headers. @SER_GTR might be to the point, I will get to a conclusion tomorrow.

Adjust ignition timing and see if it makes a difference.

And try using a higher octane fuel.

Doesn't hurt to try simple and cheap checks to rule out any other problems.

I don't want it because i had advanced engine timing earlier and it caused knocking while high revving.

i'm already using 20% hi octance with 80% regular fuel.

there's a reason they are called performance headers..

If the exhaust is making popping sounds on the overrun, then that is not a misfire. It is what SER_GTR just mentioned.

Why are you using 20% HOBC? Regular is 91 and HOBC is 97 octane and the vtec engines of 1990s required 95 octane (check your owner's manual to confirm).

Timing should first be on manufacturer specs and then you can start playing around with it when you have the correct octane fuel in your car.

And by the way, what plugs are you using?

Issue fixed and finally back to stock Exhaust manifold but Boy that was some serious difference in car's performance with performance headers.

@SpeedDemon i have non vtech engine and these are recommended fuel for my car,
D16Y4 1590cc SOHC PGM-FI 16valve engine
85kW @ 6400rpm maximum power
144Nm @ 5000rpm maximum torque
5 speed manual or 4 speed electronic automatic transmission
fuel tank capcity 45 litres
recommended fuel unleaded 91 octane or higher

And by the way, what plugs are you using?

i was using NGK laser iridium spark plugs but now back to normal NGK because iridium plugs have fault.
when i purchased this car i faced an issue of delayed throttle response and that was fixed when i replaced spark plugs with New NGK laser iridium spark plugs, few days back that delayed throttle response was back then i replaced spark plugs with NGK normal spark plugs and issue was fixed. NGK laser iridium spark plugs died approx 15K km. Can anyone have an idea about this?

i have checked coils they are working fine.

yes with performance header plugs were changed to new. I'm more concerned about spark plugs why they became faulty

Either the plugs were fake, or they are designed to fire with a different type of ignition system (like wasted spark ignition or coil on plug).

Just stick to simpler plugs if they work better for you. Why waste extra money...?

Actually it was part of some basic aftermarket modification. I did some research for iridium plugs i opted it because it's having high melting point and improved throttle response.
