This won't work. Dealers will just make separate accounts to say they are individuals and then show you the car at their house.

There is an easy solution where you ask about detailed history of the car, if it's a dealer, he wouldn't know or would have had ownership for a short time and vehicle won't be on their name, avoid those

The Simplest Solution would be any genuine owner will usually have the car under his own name and dealers have multiple cars they usually avoid having cars on their own name due to tax and cost issues.

1st Owner Cars with the seller being the 1st Owner solves your problem but such cars are rare to find.

Interestingly I know many dealers and part time investors who pretend to be genuine owners but are just resellers emanating that they are genuine sellers selling their personal car parked at their homes.

But not much can be done by Pakwheels regarding that.

This first owner term is very tricky and needs to be avoided. Usually used by dealers.

What happens here is that the vehicle indeed is registered on initial owners name, but since then changed hands several times, multiple owners, but it was never transferred to the names of new owners.

So if first owner is not the current owner, it’s safe to assume it’s with a dealer or changed multiple owners in its life.

As long as the current owner is the actual seller it’s generally an individual and not a dealer.

The simplest solution is to look for cars owned by the first owner, as genuine owners typically register vehicles in their name. However, these cars are rare. Avoid first owner term, that is a scam.

It can be owner of any position, not just first. As long as car is on the name of the seller that is good enough.

If the owner is available at the spot and is dealing directly with you only then assume the car is first owner or ghar ki gaari.
The specific phrases used by dealers pretending to be genuine owners like 'ye chachu ki gari hai wo bahir hotay' and the likes are all BS.

Even then its tricky as Ive seen people give their personal cars to part time rental especially during wedding seasons, etc.

For example a friend of mine owns a Corolla, is a first owner, uses his car for his personal use but has also given it as a part time rental to a construction company. He uses his other car when the Corolla is away.

So its always a gamble

I think these things should not really matter. If the car is in good nick with complete documents number of owners, dealer etc dont matter

It is easy enough to gauge the car if ad is put up by a dealer/showroom or individual/home.

Look at the ad carefully. If the car is already registered, it is being sold by an individual/home. However, the car may be parked in a showroom for the purpose of selling because people sometimes don't like strangers coming to ones house.

If the car has delivery milage and unregistered, then 90% it is a dealer and there will surely be "on" to be paid. If the car has higher milage without being registered, I stay away from such dealer/individual because his/her mindset is to cheat the govt. and will surely be a shady character to deal with.
