This was probably the best set up for the XK engine, it did loose some refinment in the 4.2 litre version in the E type. I remember a ride in a 3.8 when i was about 10 or 12 years old and the vivid accleration and third gear pull pull are still vivid in my mind. many years later I checked the 4th gear 40-60MPH time and it was a staggering 6 secs, a tribute to this engines pulling power's.
The particular car was the property of my father's friend Nasrullah Khattak who also had a Fiat 2300 Coupe later on. Wonder where these car will be now??
Will get some engine pics from my filesand post later on, it looks stunning with the side draught triple Webers, which were never offered by the factory but fitted by the Jaguar specialist Broadspeed when these cars were new.
