Japanese Car Engine Work (New or Repair)

Honda Life (660cc) car is having engine issues (decreasing oil, less power, increasing exhaust fumes). Why I'm confused is because mechanics say my car's gaskit, throttle enigne etc. are all good but just need to change piston and rings (so keep the original engine and change/repair faulty parts only) but then some other people suggest getting a new engine altogether. What do you guys suggest, should i get the engine replaced or get the current one fixed. Is it a risk getting a new engine if I don't have any trusted guy to get it from? Money is not an issue, just want to get the headache of engine issues over with.

since there are no signs of engine over heat and damage--just ring piston wear....

Honda life which model? And who quoted or suggested u new engine and from where ? From japan? Pakistan main tu hein nai

There's a mechanic in Johar town near Allah hoo gol chokar, he said we can go to bilal ganj and get a new half assembly. But you're saying pakistan mein Honda Life ka engine nahi mil raha?

If u r in khi i can help... Jamshed rd per jitne hy wohi yehi kam karte hy.like. R grade Japanese fixing.. i mean life ka kabli engine may be mil jae but i can guarantee. Overhaul hoa engine ho ga.. recently going through this situation for honda n one ..

Mechanics in pk usually just slap rings into a glazed cylinder bore which makes the situation extremely worse than before.

And we dont know whats the run history of this engine, has it been filled with 20w50 oil and tap water as coolant, running with no thermostat because mechanic ke haath jal jainge.

Then all bets are off, - it will need a full in depth teardown and rebuild with true genuine parts. And on top if the machine shop doesnt know whats an ra for checking surface smoothness, or just wants to “phase” because it earns them money,

Forget the job entirely, better to throw away the car.

@syncview does very good work for such, but he may refuse it if its far too gone.

Thank you for the response. Upon suggestions from many people, I took the car to Osama bhai's workshop. After opening the engine, Osama bhai searched for new pistons of Honda Life but unfortunately, couldn't find the appropriate size, so now we're going with a new head assembly from Bilal ganj that Osama is getting himself. Let's see how it goes.
