JDM will be expensive falling under the 1300cc tax regimen,

for the record, the swift being sold in pakistan is actually the now obsolete 2nd gen variant, a 2013 jdm swift is the new shape 3rd gen .

equipment , interior, specs are just another level, JDM cars have no comparison, although id suggest a vitz 2013 since it has cvt

local swift is a gas guzzler, and quality issues spring up after 50k km . avoid it

if you take care of it properly, it wont give any problems. I know people with more than 90k on the odo and local swift going strong without any issues...on the other hand JDM vitz with less mileage giving headaches with knocking and CAT related issues....plus the side mirrors robberies...

i have no idea what youre talking about mate, i have drove and tested 3 x vitz ( all 3rd generation ) with around 20k to 60k on their odo ( fresh jap imports ) and have faced no knocking issues at all, the 1kr engine is smooth as silk to drive

to be honest , the only issue ridden JDM cars ive seen are the ones people buy from dealers, they have an accident/totalled history and are locally repaired,

personally, i never had any issue with straight clean japan imports with auction sheets

CAT issues are very common with Vitz and arise anywhere between 70-90k on the odo....our local fuel quality affects the CAT resulting in its blockage with eventually results in sluggish performance and decreased mileage. after that people go here and there to local mechanics who offer them a suicidal remedy i.e. removal of CAT.... once removed, the car starts sounding like an old 70s car...replacement CATs are rare and even if you manage to import one, will set you back somewhere between 50-70k. for more info, check this out...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catalytic_converter

1KR is smooth but extremely sluggish...drive a pkdm Swift and you'll understand what i mean....Air-con is mediocre also.....

About Premio, i would prefer it any day over local rolla or civic..its very pleasant to drive...but a small hatchback with a 1.4 mill price tag for a used one is too high.

well, switch to RON 92 , it isnt very expensive now. use good quality lubes, liqui molis and mobils. read the manual, read the book.

im not advertising the vitz here, but i believe the " knock " issue is being blown out of proportion , ive seen kids here at pakwheels put the 20w50 lube and then complain heavy feel and low mileage. just saying , but i just find the vitz being much better built, much better quality wise and much better to drive

price wise, well, you dont get standard ABS and airbags and EBD on the swift too, and no CVT as well !

clink clink sound? M13A is one strudy DoHC engine which does not develop problems easily....i know people with Liana and Jimnys where the engine is crossing 200k+ kms and still going strong....there must be some maintenance issue with the car...

You can get a brand new DLX for 1.25 million with warranty that comes with ABS+EBD..CVT is the compromise you have to make but still the pick alone puts a smile on your face....easily available parts and dealership servicing....my swift is crossing 32k on the odo and Alhamdulillah not a single compliant till date for any noise or issue....a pretty straight forward car..perfect for Paki dynamics

Owned premio for 5+ year and maintenance was a issue I had to buy some part related to brake in bulk due to availability issue had a JDM accord and finding oil filter at every oil change was a hassle I have found pkdm better when it comes to maintenance compared to even common jdms

Please provide a lab report to back up your statement about fuel second sludge build up have nothing to do with cat converter

i know, i have kept it well maintained, strict oil change regimen , 5000km and put fully synthetics 5ws, spark plugs replaced at 10k intervals . ( i use NGK Rs )

im not sure exactly, the mileage, pick etc seems fine but the slightly hi clink clink audio note is irritating. this developed around 40k +

my hunch says, a suzuki needs to be ridden of after 50k km

You said it yourself that fuel causes clogging cat than why demanding lab report from me my friend....i never used the word "Sludge", instead i used blockage..sounds similar to clogging??? and when you quoted me, you edited the word "high" with "sludge".

I never edited anything thing in my post and my statement about fuel was unnecessary use of high octane fuel will clog cat converter because it burn with black soot in a low compression engine while your statement about fuel being of low quality was just based on nothing you have no idea that fuel in pak is of better quality compared most parts of world (Iran,america etc) BTW doing you thing petrol prepared by cracking process would be of low quality ? More than 80% fuel in pak is made by cracking process I wonder if you even know what cracking is please consider you statement before posting on internet

what you are referring to is pre-ignition due to heating up of spark plugs, engine carbon deposits or lean mixture where fuel is burnt before firing of spark sequence. I am not denying this at all. What I am referring to is pre-ignition due to lower octane number as higher octane number increases combustion temperatures of the fuel which eliminates or reduce pre-ignition. both are possibilities and the later contributes to clogging of exhaust....
