Jdm swift or the local. Auto or Manual?

Salam fellow pakwheels

I was planning to buy a second car for my home use and after a few searches i came across the suzuki swift, which i think is a great car in general.
During my search i found a few Jdm swifts aswell which were absolutely fantastic by their looks.
But now the main question here is which one to choose?
And what transmission would give the best average?
I look for better average as this second car would be my daily runner, my civic on the other hand was pretty heavy on the fuel part.
I really seek for guidance from the gurus of pakwheels, and yes this is my first thread here. Thankyou

Nothing will be better than a manual local Swift. JDM will be softer to drive, with a good auto, easy on MV tax (1.2L) and with some good options like keyless entry etc. But unlike popular belief, the K12B found in JDM is not that fuel efficient and will land you near 11-13 max. you can achieve same if you drive local manual with a lighter foot. also, the local will be brand new while the JDM you will find will be 2007-2009 max with an unknown service history and probably tempered mileage.

In longer run, local will come with a warranty, will be easier to sell than JDM and you will always have the dealership to sort out any problems for you.

If your main concern is fuel consumption, I would suggest you to avoid Swift because it's a fuel guzzler.

You can consider Passo. It's a much better car

Im not really sure about the model though '11 or '12?

I wouldnt mind a passo aswell, but finding a well kept passo is a little difficult, isnt it?
And people also complain that the passo gives a hard time in maintenance and a hard time finding parts ?

Bro dont buy any shitzuki zero meter car. in that price range u can buy many used (in good condition) cars. if u want a small car than go for mira. do some research n u will not regret it. or if u want ultimate fuel economy go for toyota acqua.
only buy shitzuki if u want a used car. shitzuki zero meter cars rattles like anything and no mattar what u do u cannot make it stop rattling.

Bro, Swift is a gas guzzler. You'll hardly get 11 on it, be it manual or auto.

Plus, Swift ka karcha zyada hai. Sedhi zuban mein gari choti hai but karcha iska bari gari ka hai.

Swift is a 1328cc toh it falls in the category of 1600cc. So you have to pay annually tax of 1600cc.

you can go with 1L JDMs as well. again like JDM swift, you will find better options like airbags,keyless entry etc...in short loads of goodies. But again, they will be used and you never know who imported a damaged JDM and got it repaired here. In case of any problem, you will need to go to junkyard for parts where again you will find second hand parts...so in short, your car will remain second hand always...that bro who is saying Kharcha zyada hai...so ofcourse you will always have to pay more for new and genuine parts than what you pay for second hand used parts bought from junk yard or new Chinese counterfeit parts.... If you want to feel the difference, just install genuine brake pads vs chinese (thai/taiwenese made hain as the shopkeeper say)...

I own a PKDM swift 2012....bought it with 14k kms on the odo...its been 2 years and still the car have only 32k kms to it...always kept it maintained from dealership and believe me I never had to worry about anything at all....upon completion of every 5k kms, i just drive to the dealership in the morning, leave it there and than pick it in the evening and pay the bill..its that simple and never i had any problems with it and Alhamdulillah no signs of problems coming anytime soon...i know the entire service history since the old owner bought it brand new and kept it maintained at the same dealership. Even if i sell the car today, the new owner can simply ask the dealership and get a complete service history of my car that at what times i got what things done to my car..

Yes it is heavy on fuel, yes it does not come with bling...but never did I regretted the decision of buying it...still today whenever i put my foot down, it takes her no time to reach 140+ kmph without any rattling or signs of losing the road....apart from that, my inlaws have a 2009 passo, the car has a softer drive but the engine is hell noisy and the car itself is damn slow.... in the end, it all comes to personal preferences... i would love to buy a Vitz if IMC launches it today but not those shady JDMs...

What ever you do don't buy a 660cc they are stupid

I feel strangely wierd when people here are complaining that thw swift is a fuel guzzler. Now I own a swift, I can confidnetally say that you can get 12 to 13km/l while runing AC. In the winters you can get almost 14 to 15 km/l.
To be practical its a smal car but with 1300cc engine which has a horse power some where between 80bhp to 90bhp. Now before you consider buying swift I want to warn you about the suspension, no doubt the car has excellent road grip but it does compromise the ride comfort level. Means it wont be smooth as your Civic in the bumps.
As far as maintainence is concerned I havent experienced any issues. I have the 2012 dlx model with 38k on the odo. Other than the normal oil change u wont have to worry about anything.

To be honest its a great car but if you want fuel effeciency than go for mira, but then you will have to compromise on maintainence as the parts are very expensive of every imported japanese car.
