Hi all.
I have a 96 Jeep Cherokee XJ Country 4.0 stock.
Few months back I had this keera of installing a custom muffler to hear the growl of the 4.0 but since it is my father's car I had to resist it as he likes it as it is. Few days back, the muffler ruptured while driving and a weak growl could be heard when the engine was revved. I have been able to convince my father to change the stock rusty muffler as its blown out to a custom one. WHich is why I wanted some advice from experts here.
I know a muffler delete on this system will be too loud to bear but I do want to hear the raw sound of the XJ even if I can for a day or two after which I will be forced to install a muffler. So my first question is that when the stock muffler is removed, how should the catalytic converter be connected to the remaining tail pipe?
Secondly, should I replace the entire tail pipe after catalytic converter or use the already installed tail pipe which is rusty? Will it effect the sound or any disadvantage on running the old one?
Thirdly, which custom muffler should I install that is available in Karachi and would have an aggressive tone?
Lastly, best place in Karachi to get this job done?
