Guys There is new Boeing 747-8 which will be having same Shap after all......and will be coming in competition with A380 in 2009 and the Good thing that PIA will be the one of the first to get it man!...I heard this News on the Fourm saying this...

its a very good news that pia gonna get Boeing 747-800 ..but its look like its not official news. you can see it is with new wings style.. looks like real bird hahah. it is much more beutifull then other boeings. and Boeing 787 Dreamliner is totally new airplane. looks like dolphin

747-8 and 787 are two different planes

747-8 is the New JumboJet
and 787 is a fuel efficient dreamliner

how did u get to knw PIA is getting these planes....and cud some1 plz clarify if PIA is goin for the 747-800 or 787....cuz as far as i knw,they MITE get the 747-800 on a lease maybe....so....any info ppl?

whenever boeing have problems selling any airliner, they flog it first to pia such as in the case of the 777-LR. I hope pia buy this airliner because the present 747-300's look totally prehistoric. The 787 would be a good replacement for the ageing a310 fleet. In future i think pia should have the 747-8, 787 & 737NG, these airliners would have very low operating overheads.

Your comment is way off truth, PIA is a very small customer compared to other airlines and mostly buys leased aircrafts. but to say that boeing throughs garbage at PIA is out right wrong. coz You have no idea regarding aviation and its workings and this shows it. As for the 777-200LR it is one of the most sophisticated aircrafts out there and a lot of airlines have a quite few on order, but some airlines might not have need for such aircrafts as their services are only short distance rather then long one. And PIA flies to New York, Washington DC, LA, and other distant places.

PIA might have plans to purchase or Lease 747-8 aircraft but it has not shown them yet.

Sorry, it was only in the 777-200LR case that PIA had taken the initiative to be launch customre.

@racerf1, i think brother u misread my views, great the 777-LR may be, this aircraft is for very specific long range routes, of which pia has only pk to canada.i suppose anything is better than the old and rusty death trap 747 and a310 bangers they have at present!! pia cannot fly direct to usa from pk because of us anti-terror laws, it must first serve a third country i.e manchester uk. Out of the 777 family only the 777-300 is of any value to pia as it has good pax capacity. What PIA need is good pax and cargo capcity aircraft. As for PIA being small, the airline intends to induct a further 29 aircraft over the coming years. We are a population of over 150 million and are scattered all over the globe, surely we can have a better airline than the rag-bag affair at present, a bit-more than a lick of new paint will do. There are countries smaller than us who have very good airlines, PIA must try to achieve that target.

P.s By the way there is no passenger airline that has yet ordered the 747-8, only cargo airlines have. The list you posted is for candidates only NOT firm orders!!! it says clearly at the top!!

No This NEWS of 747-800 is on the Offical site of Boeing and it has got new Engines with Cuts and has got new Wing Style....Yeah u guys r i think rite that PIA might be buying bcuz i heard this news from some fellows in Fourms ....maybe this news is not correct!

Well they also use it to fly Japan, and you are right about them not flying direct to US they do it through Toronto, Canada.

Good find Jumbo Jet bhai.

From the Traveller's point of view, Airbus A-380 is best, it offers more floor room, and more importantly bigger seats. We all know on long runs how important having a bigger seat is. While eating lunch, you have to be so cramped up and worry about not keep hitting the elbows of the passenger sitting next to you. With A-380's 1.3 inch wider seats than 747-300s, its a little comfortable and you have more leg room.

While from Operators point of view, Boeing 747-8l is better, it burns less fuel per seat, higher ROI (Rate of Return On Investment) and cheaper to operate per trip.

So, being a Traveller and not a PIA planner, I would prefer Airbus A-380. Ofcourse the CEO of PIA would be better off with going for 747-8l.

It all also depends on the Aircraft Maker's terms of Lease. If Airbus offers a better lease option, with less interest, than, A-380 would be a better buy. Let see what happens in next few yaers, as PIA is seriously in the market for new airplanes, to replace its currently aging fleet.

@datzburier A380 requires larger crew larger airports not every country can affoard to expand or create new airports just for this plane and thats the main drawback i c of this plane i saw a program on it, this plane cant even land on heathrow one of the worlds most bussiest airport and to top it all of very xpensive and heavy fuel eater as the prices are of oil these days not a good thing :).Just space is the only positive i c in this version of titanic with wings :).

those interior shots are better than the interior of a Lamborghini ! lolz. I have this sudden urge to fly now. I'm assuming that's for first class ?
