Here we start the final part of our trip .... trek of Dudipat Sar Lake!!

This will be the size of new road that starts from Jalkhad. You can notice in the previous pic that we did not use the old road in the middle of valley

We reached Basel in 25 min from Jalkhad

"Doli" is used to cross the river which has been installed and maintained by locals

We hired three horses, one for our luggage and two for ride. The rate was Rs.1,250 per day per horse after negotiations.

yeh kia sirf ek horse ka rate hai ya fir is mein jo guide sath gaya tha us kay be pasiay shamil hain??
i am bitt confused about that yaar....

The rate is for horses only. Rs.1,250 per horse per day.
We didn't take any guide. The two persons with the horses were good enough to tell us the way.

A look back after 1 hr 30 min on what we had covered so far

Things started to straighten up after 2 very tough hours

The fourth and most dangerous glacier of all. Notice how close the walking path is from broken portion. Also, it was very steep so had no choice but to pass from the regular path.

It had been three hours since we started so it was time for lunch. We stopped near a small village. They provided us chapatiyan and lassi. Life sustains in such remote areas as well.

Our porters told us that Sat sar mala lakes are just behind these mountains which were on left side of trek.

No need for bottled water anymore. Natural mineral water is available in abundance on this trek.

Now the trek was straight walk in the valley and the end of valley was visible in the distance ... And it was still 3-4 hours walk

A look back ....

Crossing the bridge on the river. The waterflow was high so horses had to do a long parallel walk on the other side until they were able to cross near Mullan ki basti.

The valley as we neared Mullan ki basti. The walk from bridge is of only 1 hr 30 min till Mullan ki Basti.

Near Mullan ki basti

We reached Mullan ki Basti in 8 hours around 6:30 p.m. The basti was closed and Mr. Nur Hussain who runs a hotel in summer season at basti was there to check the situation. He told us that basti will be open from tomorrow i.e. 23 June and he will also bring his equipment tomorrow and hotel will be open.

Another group of two senior hikers from Lahore was already there at the basti who went to lake in the morning. So again we would be second team here to reach Dudipat Lake in 2010

The camp is being installed after a very very tiring trek

Tomorrow, i will upload lake pics. Dont get too excited as the lake is still half frozen and its not the famous blue water snow patchy mountains view .... Still its worth viewing !!

Last day of our trip ...

We woke up early around 6 a.m. and after breakfast, three of us went for Dudipat Sar Lake as the fourth member was not feeling well.

The valley in the morning

The spring has just started here

This place is called Saral pass. It was totally covered with snow so we dropped the plan of crossing the pass and went back to Besal. Its around 1hr 30 min hike to the top from the point where we took pics.
