Thanks a lot azfee!
Since you are going by end of July so i expect that you will not find much snow at Malika Parbat base camp and maidan area of Ansoo Lake trek as mentioned in our pics. However, ahead of maidan area you will definitely find snow and may be it will not be as soft as it was in our attempt.
- Wear warm clothes .. specially cover your head and neck as wind is very very cold up there
- Purchase hiking sticks ... very handy while climbing on snow or any trek
- Wear diggers or treking shoes instead of routine joggers. Specially thick soul diggers are handy while coming down. Also, if unforturantely it rains then diggers are much better off for walking on muddy trek.
- Water will not be available up there so everyone should have his own water bottle. You can do natural spring water refills at Malika Parbat base camp
- Keep khajoors with you .. very very useful when you are falling short of breath during the trek
- We took Tang sache as well. Its up to you . Some people bring energy drinks. You may also take some biscuits for the way as its day long trek. I would suggest good morning breakfast and then only eat after reaching back at Malika Parbat base camp
- DO NOT drink milk or eat anything heavy that usually takes time to digest.
- Sun Block and Medicines for vomiting, pain killer, headache and some first aid stuff for wounds
- Most important of all, keep raincoats with you.
If you are planning to go on foot from Saif-ul-Muluk then i would suggest to start your trek from Saif-ul-Muluk at 6 a.m. as it takes 2 hr to 2:30 hr on foot till base camp then another 2:30 hr to 3 hrs till Ansoo Lake.
By starting at 6 you should be at lake by 12 inshallah and most probably you will avoid bad weather. Try to be at base camp by 3 pm.
If you are taking horses from Saif-ul-Muluk then till base camp you will save 1 hour and if they take you till maidan area then another 30-45 minutes will be saved.
Food is available at Saif-ul-Muluk so if you want, you can have lunch there on you way back.
I hope this will help you in making a successful attempt at Ansoo Lake. Best of Luck
