u r totally right as to high tuning gives more output, but let me share my 2 cents now that u asked for them
1) with high tuning, most of the lows subs play i-e 35-30hz sound hollow and unsatisfying , compared to 30hz tuning, where they are solid as ice.
2) A 30hz box can play 38-40hz with more power and more output than a 38hz box, dont trust me? try it urself.
3) only 40+ the output starts to skim off but still stays undercontrol, until 50hz.
where as a 38hz box will absolutely pummel the ears from 42-50hz and sound will be rich and complete in that range with (output as u consider , basically lows are also an output but we cant hear them aswell as highs so we think highs are the real output)
who agrees wid me, i changed like 10 boxes in the past 1 year, u can consider this my real time testing conclusion
