bro i want some really nice lows n not loudness
when uve got a type r hitting lows,2 days back i was outside a shop,my car was atleast 10 feet away from the shop n my system was banging lows n theres a guy who just comes up to me n hes like plz put the volume down,everything in the shop is rattling,i was like wtf :S

i have had type r in a 33hz box and a 38hz box... to me, 38hz sounded louder and better on most of the songs. since its just 750 rms, u wouldnt want to tune it too low because then u will be loosing alot of output. and since its in a trunk with almost no air leaks, i think a 30hz box would sound very dull according to me.....

since u like the way its sounding, keep it tht way , i was just passing my comments

thats the curse of the low tuner, inside the car, its like ok, but as u get away and get enclosed, damn it gets heavy

try this dorrough- trunk go bang,

31hz , play it with all windows up and driver side down, and go in the same shop haha

dude u can say watever u wish to.its a public forum..... but u cannot deny the fact tht higher tuning is for loudness...
apart from 10-13 songs or bass tracks, everything will sound louder and better when he tunes it to 37-38hz.

u r totally right as to high tuning gives more output, but let me share my 2 cents now that u asked for them

1) with high tuning, most of the lows subs play i-e 35-30hz sound hollow and unsatisfying , compared to 30hz tuning, where they are solid as ice.

2) A 30hz box can play 38-40hz with more power and more output than a 38hz box, dont trust me? try it urself.

3) only 40+ the output starts to skim off but still stays undercontrol, until 50hz.

where as a 38hz box will absolutely pummel the ears from 42-50hz and sound will be rich and complete in that range with (output as u consider , basically lows are also an output but we cant hear them aswell as highs so we think highs are the real output)

who agrees wid me, i changed like 10 boxes in the past 1 year, u can consider this my real time testing conclusion

higher tuned boxes are for loudness to the ear, if metered though u will find low tuned boxes giving the same output on lows , as high tuned boxes give on highs

its just that lows require loads of dampening and cabin sealing before u actutally start hearing n feeling them

lows are felt, highs are heard

like i said, the guy likes it so let it be.

for me , i would never ever tune lower then 35hz. because then it starts to sound cr@p in 8 out of 10 songs. and just 2 songs seem to play good.

depends alot on what u listen, i got 28hz, still i can pretty much play anything but not for demo

my demo par is 28-42hz , not higher not lower

jz...you need a bigger box if you want it to be loud and low.

right now it is indeed tuned low, but that is a compact box. so it will pick decent highs and not sound crap at all. very even flat response. good for majority of your songs.

but to enjoy low deep rap, you gotta make a bigger box...but space is an issue for u sir
