Kaghan Valley: Latest Updates for 2012 season

As the title of this post suggests: I am interested in knowing the road condition from Naran till Lulusar Lake & Babusar Top in the month of September (1st, 2nd week). Can I go all the way up to Babusar Top on Mehran? Any road-blocks / glaciers / mud path that maybe hard for Mehran?

Last time, I went on Mehran till Naran in 1st week of June and the road to Jalkhad and beyond had a lot of Glaciers / mud slopes and slippary etc.

What would be the conditions in September?

There are no glaciers in September infact u will have to struggle hard to spot any snow on mountains

Rainy season is also usually over so muddy patches and nallahs will be less and it is much easier for cars to reach Babusar pass. A few pages back in this thread, someone posted pics of Babusar pass in July and u can see so many vehicles already there. In Sep, it will be much easier.

But only trouble may be the occasional rain which can happen anytime.

But again, please visit in daytime. Another incident of snatching happened with campers at Jalkhad recently.

Can any one help me to provide following information?
1. If we want to visit Naran, Shogran in second week of August what will be situation of room rents in these two places? Because Ramdan is going on, there should me less people in these days, so rents should be fairly low?
2. is there any specific problem associated to visit in Ramdan these areas?

It will be like off-season. Only regular bazar is operating at the moment and extra shops, stalls, camping area etc. will open again after Ramadan.

You should find a room in good hotels between 1000-1500 during proposed time. You will have all the bargaining power so do not pay more.

Sorry Brother, don't need to be desperate by my post/advice. It was not an answer cause certain gurus can reply in a much better way.

I dont think so that noori top included in his plan, My prediction is ISB.....MZD......UPPER NEELUM.....MZD........LEEPA
One has to cross noori top when going either from naran to neelum valley or neelum to naran. Noori top is included in our plan INSHA ALLAH

Yaar i have few members who want to visit Neelum and return earlier so previous plan of Leepa - Neelum - Naran was changed to Neelum - Leepa now. We will try to visit Nuri Top from Sharda and come back Inshallah.

Route will be Inshallah: Lahore - Balakot (need to take the jeeps) - Garhi Habibullah - MZF - Neelum - Nuri Top (back to Sharda) - MZF - Leepa - MZF - Lahore

Tough plan. Especially the Nuri top one. It's a hard core jeep track. Min 5 hrs one side. Good luck

I am planning to visit Naraan, Lake Saif-ul-Malook, Jalkhad, Basel and LuluSar after Eid. Tell me people who just came from these areas, are these accessible easily and what are the fares conditions? I am planning to go with my family (wife an two kids). Last year I visited Lake Dudipatsar with my friends in end of June and we were all OK with fares, treks, hotels and jeeps. Please do let me know so I could plan accordingly.
