Kaghan Valley: Latest Updates for 2014 Season

Please let me know if I reach Abbottabad 4:30 in evening where should I stay, in Mansehra or should I go to Balakot to spent night. And one more thing please let me know from where I should hire jeep for 4 to 6 days and from where I should buy eatables & water to store with me for 4 to 6 days. I am not leaving in Pakistan that?s why I am asking for basic information. I will reach Abbottabad 8 June 2014. Jazak Allah Khair.

You can easily reach Balakot by evening so stay there and all your preparation can be done in Balakot with mineral water and other eatables are easily available there. For jeeps, again Balakot is the best spot.

1. Just couple of kilometers before Mansehra u will find a very good hotel 'Green Lagon'.
2. Rather to stay in Balakot I prefer to stay at Shawal just before Balakot. Good View and and nice hotels too.
   For your queries about the jeeps and eatables please share your destination and plan so it would be easy for us to suggest you accordingly.

Thanks for your reply and suggestion, I am going to visit Saif Al Malook Jheel, I want to stay in Naran & Kaghan for 5 to 6 days. From this forum i came to know many information.
I will reach to Abbotabad through Daewoo Bus at 4:30pm in evening (8th or 9th June), from here my trip starts. Now I don't know where to stay and how to manage my expense, mineral water stock, hotels (medium class not cheap not expensive just in between), Jeep hire to 5 days or what to do. If you can guide me it will be great help from you.

Once you reach Abbotabad you will find Hiace for Naran. But as you will be reaching bit late don't go for Naran same day. Make a stop over at Balakot and there you will find all the needed stuff too. You may contact Mr. Sajad 03004914354 (Jeep Driver At Naran) belong from Balakot a very good friend of mine with my reference if needed, he will do the needful for you. Moreover he has good links with the Lahore hotel at Naran and can arrange the room with best room rent. As I hired him as jeep driver/guide every season. InshaAllah he will offer you the best jeep fare. You must contact him well before. I pray for the safe and wonderful journey ahead. You will definitely enjoy the trip.

Hi , Planning on visiting Shogran coming weekend , would be really nice if some one lists options for staying overnight in Shogran and also most importantly can we take own car(Civic/Corolla) uptill shogran?

we once visited Shogran in January 2009 . the first 1-2 kms of Kiwai Shogran road were clear but after that snow on road started getting heavier so we came back and parked the car in a small hotel in Kiwai which didnt appear to be very good and reliable but we had no other option. Gave them 200 rupees for 1 night parking. Hired a jeep which cud took us 5 kms from Kiwai and remaining distance we covered by walking over the snow.. only Pine Park was open and that too had only one room occupied already, every other hotel shop and restaurant was closed..
