Hi all, I am back from naran yesterday. Weather was awesome. However I will must say, people who are saying road is good are wrong. After paaras there is virtually no road at all however any vehicle can go but if there is rain road gets too much slippery. Be cautious and travel safe. Room rents are 3000 till 6000 depending upon your pocket. I stayed at suhrab valley hotel in naran main bazar and I payed 3500 per night. Hotel was awesome with great people managing.

Babusar Top opened on 9 June 2014 just one day before our departure for Chitral trip and we crossed on 19 June.

Babusar Top Road Condition:
On Chilas side, there are only 2,3 bad patches near bridges and rest is all newly metalled road till the top ... awesome drive !!!

On Kaghan side, road is still a jeep track from Babusar Top till Lulusar Lake. After the lake, road is quite good till Jalkhad and then onwards it is beautiful drive till Naran.

There were lots of glaciers between Babusar and Lulusar Lake when we crossed on 19 June 2014.

میں نے اپنی مہران میں درہ بابوسر 12جون کو گلگت سے ناران کے سفر کے دوران عبور کیا۔
چلاس سے بابو سر تک سڑک بہت بہتر حالت میں ہے اور گلیشیرز کے درمیان بھی سڑک کی حالت بہت بہتر ہے ۔
بابوسر سے لولوسر جھیل تک کافی بڑے بڑے گلیشیرز صاف تو کیے گئے ہیں لیکن صرف بڑی گاڑیاں اور جیپیں ہی ان کو سڑک کی خراب حالت کی بنا پر عبور کر سکتی ہیں۔
لولوسر سے ناران تک بھی کم از کم پندرہ بیس گلیشیرز ہیں جہاں سڑک کی حالت بہت زیادہ خراب ہے۔
بہت دقت اور پریشانی سے بابوسر سے ناران تک کا سفر مہران میں طے ہو سکا۔
بہر حال درہ بابو سر کا راستہ کھلا ہوا ہے۔

I came back from a tour of Naran Kaghan yesterday. It was an awesome tour. The weather is ideal in both naran and kaghan.
I visited almost every place till babusar top.
My experience:
Never go on holidays. go early morning on monday and try to come back b4 weekend. bcz if u have a room in 1000 in week days it will cost u almost 5000-7000 in weekends.
Go till naran in ur personal car. "NEVER" I repeat "NEVER" go after naran on ur car. Road condition till Jhalkand is excellent. you can visit it if u want. but after that till babusar top it is in worst condition. i have seen ppl bringing their brand new gli's , city, there and got stuck in it. not only creating problem for themself but others too. some even toe their car till naran.
Give 5k to jeep and it will carry you smoothly till babusar top. Please don,t ruin your precious machine.
Never eat from end hotels. their food is not that good. There is a hotel run by some lahori guy i don,t em the hotel name. it is in start of naran bazar. the food quality is pretty good there.
Never charge your camera batteries or cmobile batteries from hotels. their voltages are always fluctuating and it will demage ur gadget.
Goto a mobile charging shop in start of naran bazar. this guy has generator for this very purpose and takes 30rs for 2.5hr charging per phone or battery.
I along with my friends reached naran via public transport and i must say, being always going here and there in my own car, I very much enjoyed public transport. No hustle and bustle. Stop to stop going and no mid way stop over thing.
IBD to Mansera and Mansera to Naran.
Ibd to mansera 200/- and mansera to naran 250.
and these guys are pro level drivers. they save around 1.5hr of ur time if u go on ur own car, but then u can stop over any time u want ot eat and make some pics, which public transport don,t offer, but u have to compromise on something.

please visit this beautiful valley and try to keep it clean.

Yes a bank has just opened there in Naran bazar. I think it was bank Islamic. Weather in May is cold, around 20c in day. In june -Junly it goes up to 30c-35c. In September it comes back to 25c.

I have few question in my mind and i request all of you to share your experiences.

1) As I m with family and children, should i reserve hotel before going ? i called some of them, all are asking for min. 7k-10k for a room, which is quite expensive. Can you please refer some good hotels and their contact details ?
2) is it feasible to go in Toyota Vitz, if yes, how far i can take it easily ?

Keep yourself away from Naran during eid days. My relatives went there during 3rd day of eid last year and they were in traffic jam for 5 hours just one km before naran. Finally they were at their hotel on jheel road at 2am. I am inclined to stay at home during eid days...... no sukoon!

1) I went 2 years ago on 2nd day of Eid. I stuck in traffic near mansehra and again between Kaghan and Naran. Hotels will be costlier than usual. Naran bazar will be jam pack. You will find rush at hotel counters, the person at reception will be handling phone + 2,3 customers at the same time, will be very busy, negotiation on rent will be hard. In such situations, I would advise to book in advance, because it will not be suitable to first find parking space in bazar, leave family in car and search and negotiate for hotels. Try to reach there before in daylight. For good hotels, search other threads or search for Parhena Cottages, deManche, Arcadian etc etc.

2) Vitz can easily go there. I have seen many many 660cc Autos go there till Naran bazar. Any car in good engine condition can go. If you have problems like weak tyres, breaks, radiator leaks etc etc, you must fix them first.

Since, it will be jam packed, so you will need to bear with slow response from food stalls, hotel reception and somewhat agree to the jeep wala timings and rates.

Very off topic but does anyone know if there are any recreational fishing sites around Fairy Meadows? I plan on taking my fishing rod along.

no fishing facility at or near fairy meadows.

There is nothing to do at Fairy Meadows after 1.25 hrs journey via jeep & 5 hours Trekking, except for beautiful sceneries.
