Guys the best we can do through this thread is educate people...its not about Toyota vs City ...its about car A and car B which constitute of major chunk of sales in Pakistan in 1.3L category. if any other first world country i m sure one of these could have happened.

1. Victims IF unhurt would have walked away silently and insurance/cops take care of rest since Insurance is compulsory and cops are authoritative and educated.
2. Corolla guy suing city guy over wreck less driving or vise verse and getting compensation.
3. Corolla or City guy suing their respective automobile makers and getting compensation.
   Sadly none of this will be happen here. So if damage compensation is not given , focusing on damage control would be a good idea.
   So if anyone out there is about to buy any car, he should do a good research into the safety features of the car. Getting inclined to favour a car one owns is an immature approach. What there is and not is should be asked from the official dealers or the extracted from ofiicial websites of the car.

And you want to compare the losses in this accident because?
This is NOT a head on collision which shows the strength of both cars. The Corolla had a frontal impact which is the designed and engineered to the best standards plus the engine in the middle reduces the exerting force aimed towards the cabin. Where as City has MORE damage because

1) It was stationary [Not moving, thus didnt had an energy to hit corolla]

2) Its totalled from behind where the cross-sectional area of boot space is far less then engine compartment and the boot was "EMPTY" thus the COROLLA wouldnt be facing any problem in crushing the empty boot! Since it had nothing to Stop it.

Comparing the frontal collision of corolla with rear collision of City and then making up a conclusion that City is crap is idential of saying "Apples taste better then Oranges" :S

And i thought we have some automobile guru's on pakwheels. :S

look at the bonnet even if the car was stationary, the bonnet is gone too, how do u explain that??

face it, city is lighter and the pics speak for themselves.

Poor city owner must be devastated. I guess that's what the car is supposed to do in an accident. It crumples up and absorbs the force of the impact. I'm sure the city owner would rather have his car crumpled up than see any of it's passengers with internal injuries.

Good to know someone knows what actually this theory is.

the C pillar has collapsed, rear door is displaced, rear seats are broken, cabin is compromised, not sure how crumple zone theory can be equal to crumpled cabin

I believe city doesn t have rear beam ..this was done to protect the pedestrians ...so some one who impacts with the car is safe but this feature compromises the safety of the car its self. ... a very weird idea though.

theres no beam inside the bumper, but both pakistani civic 06 and city 05 have about 3 inch thick beam behind the back of rear seats, it was removed in 07 city after facelift, seems like 10+ also have a weak back end
