Karachi to Gawadar petrol pumps

Hi everyone, After a successful and a wonderful trip from Karachi to Muuree MashAllah, I am planning to go to Gawadar for 2 days InshAllah.

I’ve heard there are almost fuel pumps (not irani petrol) on this route and you have to carry fuel with you. Secondly it’s not nearly as safe as the highways of sindh and and punjab.

We will be a group of 4 to 5 Bachelors, should we expect any problems?

Last Pakistani pump you'll find is at Windar.

Then in Gwadar city.

I take along a fuel can. But it is a safety risk and then the smell also causes allergy.

My suggestion:

1. get your tank full with hi-ron from a trusted pump in Karachi

2. At Winder, refuel fully with regular Pakistani one

3. Before tank gets half, around Ormara, refuel again with Irani one. Don't wait for the tank to get empty so that it blends well.

4. Refuel again in Gwadar with regular Pakistani available only at one pump in main bazaar. Ask any local for directions. Give attention to timing, the pump starts late in the day and closes around sunset. So fuel up first thing you reach Gwadar.

5. Give attention to optimum speed to get maximum milage.

6. Refuel on the way back with Irani before the tank is half.

This way you'll not need carrying extra can. But do carry at least 4L one (lube can is perfect for safety and minimum smell). This is for emergency only. In case you have to use that, do mix with equal Irani fuel to get maximum out of it.

there are plenty of shops who provide irani petrol

at kund malir
át ormara
at pasni and and gawadar

petrol is not the issue in this area. i had travel to gawadar thrice very good place first time

always keep your very own funnel and good 2 meters of MAL_MAL in order to filter the petrol at time of filling from road side drum pumps.

it took me over 11 hours to reach waadh from pasni because when i was away taking a leak, Car fuel tank was topped up directly from a drum without funnel and the drum debris fucked up the filter in under 5 kms and then misery began every 2 km i have to remove & clean the filter... It was toughest of journey i remember to date.

If refilling with Irani petrol, do that before the tank is empty. Ideally around half tank to avoid such stuff.

Don't refill from shoddy jhonpra places. There are big ones on the way also selling Irani petrol with dispensing units. Usually located near big towns.

We've been using their funnel without malmal with above precautions, more than a dozen times, and were fine Alhamdolillah.

my experience was from my trip way back in early 2000s .. still a funnel & bundle exist in trunk when going out there. Rusted drums fueling EFI cars are nightmare,

my last 1 nighter trip was in April 2018 and I still exercise the same.
