Karachi to Lahore Road Trip In Suzuki FX

I am planning a road trip for the first time from Karachi to Lahore on my Suzuki FX 1985 in mid of December.
Below are some details regarding my trip and car condition, kindly provide your valuable suggestions related to my trip, weather and precautions.

1. Car is on petrol and in good condition as per engine, wiring, radiator and tires.
2. Total 4 persons (3 can drive).
3. Planning to leave Karachi at 12 AM.
4. We have a stay in Multan, will move to Lahore after 1 or 2 days.

BTW, december is foggy in punjab, AC and heater should be working.

i'd suggest start at 4.30 am time when truck drivers start to stop over catch some sleep. You can offer fajir eat some nice nashta in at hala by 6 am. Run upto Sukkar non stop have some munching by noon. Top up fuel tank start over Sukkar Multan Motorway and you arrive multan by 5-6 pm.

@afarooqi has correctly pointed for fog after sunset across punjab. make sure your car heater is working good. good luck for the trip.

you can not reach Hala in just 1.30 hours from Karachi..

uzair - one thing you forgot - Its suzuki FX 1985 model. If Foxy can go then why not FX. good luck ashar.

you know your car better so just ensure its mechanically fit and particularly recheck any radiator issues.. secondly i would not suggest to leave at 12am if there is no hard reason to reach Multan early, you can leave 5 or 6 am and should still reach Multan by evening.. other most important issue is keep watching the weather update to know the fog situation and move accordingly..

Will surely consider the timings.
My only issue is foggy weather, i hope i will not face any extreme fog. Should i install extra fog lights? Although my car's headlights are pretty good on highways.
Are there any fuel stations between Sukkur - Multan motorway?

I will recheck the car with mechanic, no problem.

Personally i like to drive at night and can drive long enough as compared in daylight. That's why i want to cover the maximum distance at night. If it is unsafe than i will surely leave in early morning.

Its electrics should be checked thoroughly especially switch and ignition wiring. Radiator fan should also be checked and convert it to auto if possible.If not keep a spare fan. As your car would be running it direct and it may burn its motor on this long journey.

You should keep some spares like fan belt, fuses in Car.

And I would recommend flush its cooling system too as it would be running Water as coolant.

Should i install extra fog lights?

sure sir please install YELLOW (amber) Fog lamps and keep 1 handheld Yellow blinker type light to alert traffic in case of fog area break down.

What's the range of fx fuel tank? How many km can it go before refueling? From what I have HEARD, no petrol pumps on sukkhur- Multan motorway. Other experienced members will guide better. Best of luck

Fuel tank capacity is 25 liters i think, i saw online specs of FX and it shows 30 ltr tank but i dont think it is 30.
Although its fuel avg on highway is around 18-19 kmpl.

Although it can easily cover sukkur to multan in one tank I would advise u to keep i jerry can just as precaution some 2 water bottles......1 litre oil .......6 ft piece of wire .....an insulation tape ......check spare tire and tire changing tools 1 plier ....1 flat and 1 Phillips screw driver.....thoroughly check wiring for any damaged insulation cover it.......6 feet of petrol pipe
