Last week, one day i was getting bored coz there was nothing much to do, so i made plans to visit Naukot Fort in interior Sindh. 
Next day on Friday 30th January 2009, after Jumma Prayer i left for Hyderabad. Stayed overnight there n met some old friends.
On Saturday 31st January went to Mirpur Khas n stayed there with an old family friend. Also took a round to see the Mirpur Khas city. 
On Sunday 1st Feburary went to see the Naukot Fort n reached back Mirpur Khas by night.
On Monday 2nd Feburary left for Karachi from Mirpur Khas in the evening n reached back Karachi by 10 PM.
Naukot Fort: Naukot Fort is also known as the gateway of Thar Desert. It is 98 Km from Mirpur Khas. The Naukot town has a Fort of Talpur period which is still existing but in very deteriorating condition. Talpurs had also built forts in Islamkot, Singaro and Mithi, which are not prominent as of Naukot.
Naukot Fort, a fortified strong hold of Talpur period is situated 3Km north-west of Naukot Town at the edge of Thar Desert in district Tharparkar. It was built by Mir Karam Ali Khan Talpur in 1814 A.D. The Fort is divided into two portions, i.e barracks n residential area. The main Fort is 366 ft in length n 318 ft in breadth. In the opening of main Fort, there is small square facing towards Thar Desert. The Fort is made with burnt bricks laid with mud, mortar n lime plaster.
Mirpur Khas: Mirpur Khas means The land of most high Mirs. It was founded in 1806 by Mir Ali Talpur.
Mirpur Khas is the South eastern city of Pakistan in Sindh Province. Mirpur Khas is famous for its mangoes, especially Sindhri Mango. The city is built on or may be just beside an old Buddhist metropolis of 4th century A.D. There are remains of the Stupa from 4th century near Mirpurkhas known as "Kahoo Jo Daro"
Mirpur Khas is only 70 Km from Hyderabad. It has Sanghar in North, Umerkot in East, Tando Allah Yar in West and Badin and Tharparkar Districts in South.
Most people speak Sindhi but there is a substantial number of Urdu Speaking New Sindhis or the immigrants from India, who came in 1947.
There are about 60% Muslims and 40% Hindus in the city & Surroundings.
