Karachi to Multan by road on 19 February

Hello members

I am planning a trip to Multan from Karachi on my own car (Honda Citi 2007). Its a first time for me to drive myself as in the past I used air, train and bus route. I am going to take Super highway and Indus highway and would like experienced member to advise me on some do's and don'ts like:

• Best time to travel (Day or Night?)
• Any good stop over (For food, tea etc)
• Suggest a decent hotel in Sukkur and Bahawalpur (for night stay)
• Any other suggestions

• Best time would be to start at around 4 AM if you want to reach Multan in one day but if you want to do it in 2 days then starting after sunrise is better.
• There are many.. Taj Hotel at Moro and Chowk Bahadurpur are really good.
• There is a hotel named "Palm Valley" at Sukkur. It's really good and the best thing is that it is on Highway. No benefit of staying in Bahawalpur because Multan is just 2 hrs from BWP.
• I would suggest you to stick to N5 and do not take N55.

Also any good hotel between Hyderabad and Sukkur

its a 13.5-14 hours journey which can very easily be done in one day. have done it a lot actually. i m posted in bahawalpur and the road is excellent while coming from Karachi. no need to stay night in between. even if u start at 7, by 9 at night u wud easily be in Multan, without having to overspeed ANYWHERE. best of luck

Thanks, I am travelling with my parents and I think 14 hour in one stretch would be bit difficult for them, that why I am looking for a stopover after 7-8 hours drive.

Yes.. Chowk Bahadurpur is Rahim Yar Khan bypass. Between Hyderabad and Sukkur is Moro and you can stay at Taj Hotel there..

You will go comfortably in 2007 city.

Road is in good condition except khi-hyd and lodhran to multan is very bad. Multan to lodhran is newly built.

multan- khi is more better than khi to multan. Specially entering sindh and then till hyd was a shock for us. It was too good.

khi-multan is 14 hours of net driving. Multan to khi is 13 hrs.

if you hit the road around 7am you will easily make it will little driving in night time

I observed that night time driving is more difficult due to HTVs. They'll frequently disrupt your momentum

Sukkur will be the approx mid point. You can easily find a guest room on the main military road. We stayed at the decent lounge (main city branch) @ 2000rs ... but the the military road decent lounge has a very easy approach. Book in advance to avoid any exploitation (just in case)

Avoid eating on road side dhabbas although we did
keep dry fruits, fruits, dates, biscuits ..... stop for tea only.

anyways if you still want a proper dinner then sajjad restaurant in thehri just before sukkur will be a good option (have not tried myself ). its the same like the highway restaurant here in khi
