Kashmir - A story untold

Hello everyone

After the Lahore trip about a year ago this time I got the opportunity to travel to Kashmir.

The journey started off with my fellows in Adventure society at IBA from Karachi. We reached Lahore by Business Express and from there on our trip started when we hit G.T. Road to Islamabad.

For now enjoy the view of our beautiful Kashmir

So the trip started from G.T. Road when we were going from Lahore to Islamabad. Private coaster and a hiace was arranged to accomodate 35 students. The journey started around broad daylight at 4pm and since the journey was long, go to see sunset on our way.

On our way stopped at a restaurant for brief time to have food and till then it was Maghrib time. Offered prayers and then went off for Islamabad where we reached around 9pm.

Stayed overnight at Islamabad and the next early morning headed towards Muzaffarabad. On our way we had an option to either stop at Murree or Patriata for lunch. Most students opted for Patriata hence we decided to stop there for the amazing chair lift rides. Stop was for around 3 hours and I got the opportunity to capture some amazing views from the chair lift itself.

Another view from the top. The sun rays trying their best to penetrate the heavy cloud that covered the hills that day. The weather was amazing with dark cover and drizzling all the way to the top where it was snowing.

A view of the road to Patriata from the top. In the background the lush green landscape can be seen despite the time of winters/autumn and light snow in that area in days to follow. The trees are unique in this Patriata.

So the amazing trip up to the top of Patriata came to an end. Due to the harsh weather couldn't use my DSLR much since I forgot my gloves in the bus. It was snowing and wind was blowing fast which made it difficult for me to even close my fists

But it was worth it. I was having more fun with out the gloves. The ride to the top was a memorable one. This is perhaps the best time to visit hill stations like these.

Patriata in late January - Highly recommended

Hello Muzaffarabad

We reached at night in Muzaffarabad due to land sliding at various places since it was raining all the way long
The weather was amazing as usual. Biryani was ready once we reached the Hotel. It was served hot but looked and tasted more like pulao Maybe the local biryani tastes this way or may be it was Kashmiri Biryani
Anyway woke up early the next day and went on to explore the city for a small walk to nearby places.
