Keeping your car secure from theft

What precautions you do to keep your car secure (in addition to having antitheft and immobilizer systems that came as a stock if any)

As the after market locks are getting too common and ineffective so i thought of sharing the ideas

I personally thought of crook lock , may some sort of radio transmitter/receiver that could be hooked to 12v supply and monitoring and broadcasting the activities (as used by the costly tracking systems)

Mobilink offers a really nice security system.
Not sure what its called but my friend has it in his suv, and he can call specific number from his mobile and actually hear whats going on in the car, he can also unlock, lock, open trunk, track the ride.. yada yada yada....

Anything that is operates wirelessly in Pakistan is a waste of money unless its based off of CDMA technology as GSM frequency has long been cracked. A 4k rps GSM blocker will rendered your "alarm" or "anti-theft" device useless. Sure it looks fancy but that's not going to help you keep your vehicle.

I've installed a "choor switch" on my car that only I know where its at that allows my car to even run, it has to be manually turned on everytime, thats on top of an alarm the car came equipped with. The key thing to remember is to NOT splice into the starter positive as thats completely useless because one can always circumvent the starter. Keep it simple and affective and everything else beyond that is for show.

anti-theft gadgets that are available under brand name "krooklok" usually clamp steering, steering/clutch or shift-lever/hand-brake or even the wheel itself.
well it is good to have such 'visual deterrents' just to give an early warning to the intruder that it will be a difficult & time consuming attempt.
"chor-switch" is a good idea but there should be some audible device to support the purpose.
after the invasion of lpg/cng thingy... it crossed my mind why not to make use of a "fuel cut-off solenoid" with a hidden toggle-switch to control the fuel passage..... well the recipe can be useful for petrol driven vehicles & if you know how to play with the wiring-harness even cng users can cut-off gas supply for anti-theft purposes.

i guess we can only add to the difficulty level for carjackers but for the motivated ones, nothing is impossible!

100 % agree. I have installed a fuel cut switch which kills the fuel pump but lets the car run for another few 100 meters out of fuel available in the line.

Iam not into getting my car secured by someone else like tracking companies
I wanted to do it as DIY
so i think choor lock and mechanical locks are better option still now adays
the thing that gets too common is always a risky part like the security systems now adays

There is a pedal lock that is on sale by 15 police get that. It comes with american lock and heavy kind of pedal locks not easy to cut.

My favorite is to intercept two variable signals (crank and cam sensor) not the idiotic way of cutting ground to the ECU like the tracking companies do. - It can also be on the ignitor circuit in EFI/Distributor engines - no ignitor = no spark = no move

I had a corolla in my shop once - which I was not informed of having a tracker unit - it suddenly switched off and showed no check light on ignition - now as I had my tail harness connected to the ECU for testing purposes I found no ground signal to the earth points - and no 12V to the live points - I simply hot wired them through the tail harness - and started the engine to carry on my work to be confronted later by the tracking company and some stupid cops saying that I did something illegal - I politely told them to get lost and that their technique to immobilize the car was very childish
