Khi to Hunza , (Khi-LHR/FSD/ISB - Bisham- Karimabad- Gulmit) GB/Hunza

Salam to All,

I am from Karachi, and INSHALLAH i'll get married on 18th December. So, planning to visit north for honeymoon in the start of feb on my own car that is Cultus 2020 AGS (40k km driven, stock condition).
- I have seen few other similar blogs on Pakwheel but found mostly couples are travelling through Air for honeymoon. But i plan to drive.
- Time period: 15 days (karachi sy karachi tk)
- Budget: 1 lac Max
Can you advise which place will be accessible on my car ?
i have checked Kashmir but found only 3 places which can visited that is shadra, Kel, Taobat. (but from shadra, got to know that i need jeep to go till toabat, so i might drop kashmir plan)

ALHAMDULILLAH Got Married last December 2021.
as days are coming near. so i had made a plan to visit below places by car.
Khi to Lahore to Bisham to Gilgit To karimabad to Gurmit to Sost and than back

i am definitely sure, that i will miss many thing and might be not able to explore much.

but INSHALLAH i will try to make it memorable and keeping safety as priority .

Please add on, if there are places in between, i can visit.

I will be leaving Karachi around 25th jan or 1st Feb Probably.

In car trip you would consume almost 250 litre fuel also need engine oil change during trip and pay tol taxes so it will cost 50,000+. You may consider traveling by train to Islamabad and by air from Islamabad to gilgit. It would reduce three to four days of your trip and also reduce travel fatigue in almost same budget. You can hire car/jeep for travelling gilgit onwards to hunza, naltar valley, etc.
In recent times hunza karimabad has become very expensive due to inflow of large number of foreign and domestic tourists. So consider staying in aliabad, minapin and gilgit. Also beware of a scam, don't buy anything to eat (food, fruit or dry fruit) where hunza people have written "traditional" or "organic" it's there tool of selling food products on two to three times higher rates.

I have been to GB 6 times and stayed in hunza only once. I prefer only day trip to hunza and I prefer staying in Nagar or gilgit. Hunza is very expensive now, you buy dry fruit from Nagar you will get almost double quantity with respect to hunza. I am not against hunza because if so many foreign travellers go to any other place it would become expensive. These things you get to know only when you experience them. Good luck for the trip!

I've got few number from Air bnb for hotels and average rate with heater decent room is around 3k-6k max.
Rest, i am trying to carry food related items and other things along with me in my car.

sir i think budget is low from karachi to karachi......

baki i suggest that u travel to Hunza as it has best facilities and u will have very less crowd........ just avoid rainy spell u mite not be able to reach in heavy snowfall..

1. Congratulations on your wedding. My best wishes to you.
2. So happy that you are thinking of going on a honeymoon road trip. My advice is to consider the weather before venturing out. This winter has seen some extreme weather so better to be safe and comfortable. For a Karachiite winters upcountry are very extreme and if there is no heating then the experience could become a punishment. I would focus on Lahore, Islamabad and maybe Abbotabad. Beyond Islamabad and Abbottabad there will be snow so plan accordingly. From Islamabad you could consider going up and beyond Pir Sohawa. Some nice resorts/places to stay check out Booking.com and airbnb. You can pick and choose accommodation based on your budget.

Actually may be budget i will manage till 1.5 or bit more for this trip
So far i have made my mind to go till Sost or may b khunjerab if roads are clear.

My plan is as below:

• Lahore (Stay 1 night)

• Bisham ( Hilton hotel or there are few others, so i think i can get good hotel in 4-5k/night) Stay only 1night

• Karimabad (Stay at Embassy in hotel or anyother.)
  Will visit, Altit Fort / Baltit Fort/ and will drive to eagle Nest ( As per my sources, no hotel will be there, but i think if i am going so far, then i should be wandering nearby places)
  (may be 1 night or 2 nights)

• Gulmit (Will stay at Marcopolo inn hotel or any other, whatever is available with good deal)
  Sost/Passu/Hussain bridge
  Few more places.
  (2 nights probably)

If able to get more time, then i may visit Swat or Malam jabba. through Shangla road
Than back to ISB and stay for 1 night at relative house. & then back to Khi

Its around 4.5k km from Khi to Khi.
considering 1.5k km additional. Then i think my cultus Ags can do easily 6k km with avg 15 km/ltr (although it can give more, but trying to calculate on average side). Fuel will only cost me 60k km.

Rest is only Food and Hotel expense.
Hope i have not missed anything

The other reason of choosing hunza is because right now it will be very less crowd and place with very few crowd is much better to enjoy the trip.
By this one can freely roam around with family and that silence will help one person to get close to the nature.
